I keep rereading the lyrics of the Carlton Football Club anthem/song, and can't see a single thing which is racist.

Stephen Hagan, making the accusations is a racist against colour; in this instance Navy Blue. He wants attention. He's a narcissist.


I have done my bit and continue to do my bit for equality and equal opportunity for the indigenous community.
Last week I was on an indigenous led cruise to the Great Barrier Reef with 25 friends, which was a great day, because I always support the original people of our land.

Today I'm going to lunch with mates who helped me promote a mate of mine who is an 'elder' (25 years younger than me, mind you) who I recommended as a Board Member for a big company, which he gratefully accepted. I employ indigenous people. I have no problem with the Carlton FC song. The indigenous people I've spoken with about this silly request don't see a problem with it either, and can only see this backfire on him and the movement.

Football fans and supporters of teams are loyal to the bone. Don't poke the bear. Pick fights that are worth fighting for, and help the movement for equality.

Now, leave my Football club and its non racist song alone, or I will turn on anyone who follows the path of Stephen Hagan on this issue.

Don't buckle to Cancel culture let alone narcissists like this bloke.

He's not saying the lyrics to our song are racist. He's saying the lyrics of "Lily of Laguna" are racist. Because we use the tune from that song, he attributes racism.

There's no words to the tune on its own. So its the words which are racist. Its all fixed now. Carlton fixed the problem by adopting the decent lyrics. Simple

The 2 girls who wrote the words for the Carlton FC song, decided to use the catchy tune and used decent words to describe and celebrate our team and its supporters.

Its a decent song. Period.

Just like African Americans have subverted the meaning of the N word and made it their own and something they can use proudly we’ve subverted the old tune and made it something we can all be proud of.
