I thought this might be the game in which Lucas gets his last chance (he may have already had his last chance), but the selections are hardly a shock.

Let's face it, we don't have many alternatives at the moment....

Cripps wouldn't give us more run and I'm quite comfortable to not rush him, particularly as he's said to be a bit behind with his fitness.
Garlett hasn't fired a shot all year at AFL or VFL level. I wouldn't have minded throwing him in for this game, but on the other hand there's something to be said for not gifting games to players who don't seem to have their heart in it.
Armfield is perhaps a bit unlucky - but is he the future either?
Holman, Temay Byrne & Reynolds are not ready for the AFL, not by a long shot.
Sheehan has missed the last week or two with injury.
Watson's only chance for selection is if Rowe or Casboult go down.

We don't need to tank this one......

Armfield's the disappointing one. He really seems to have gone backwards under Malthouse. He never had the best skills but is quick, tough at the contest and has a big heart. Can't work out why he doesn't get a spot in the team?

Played some of his best footy last year believe it or not under mick. As syn said, he's injured. Hence his late start to the season and really never recovered.

Shocked to be sitting hre looking at those 'ins'. I tipped us to beat them but they've gone for pace with their ins and we've gone for a run with player and another who can find space well but has no pace.
I honestly thought Garlett and Armfield might get a 'run' this week on the long ground.
Armfield is out of favour and Garlett who knows. If he leaves for WA he'll revel on the big grounds every couple of weeks. And Armfield will get picked up at a bargain price if he goes. He plays hard, fast footy. One of my favourites to watch.

They'll run it through the midfield from half back. They've been doing it to us for years and this week will be no exception. I don't think this team can get up. Not that it matters. What matters is high picks. It's nice to win, just the same.

Doubt Carrots will play, but let's not all get panicky if he does - he's been our best interstate players for many years now and has a great record @ Subi - his fitness and gut running counts for plenty on that ground.

Reckon Lucas in for him..

The three outs aren't racehorses either.

Nice to see WA boy Blaine get a go and wouldn't mind the run of other WA boy Lucas if he gets a crack..

Worst 12 minutes of football by a Carlton player in living memory.

Not to mention Murphy missing two in a row from twenty out.

Madhouse has lost confidence in Garlett ...
Garlett has lost confidence in himself ...
Garlett has lost confidence in Madhouse!

Going down the same path as Laidler.

Why remind me...he's almost retired and that nightmare will hopefully end.

I admire Carrots for...well....when he was our BP and his B&F year too....and the face he puled in the EF at the Bumbers player who missed the shot at goal....and for being in the oppositions face.

When fit and strong and aggressive and in form he was fantastic.
Hasnt shown much really other than defensive qualities in the midfield since the Lonergan assault.

What a stupid post.
When Garlett kicked 43 goals last year were your positive about Garlett?

Not if he's not playing well or working hard enough. He simply doesn't deserve a spot. That fact is there isn't a lot to chose from.
