5. Shouldn't we just give BV a ring, he's the only one on here who actually gets modern footy.

As much as this is meant to be humour, there's good reason to take on 5. BV will say it as it is, without the need to interview Teague to see some of the failures to understand the game day challenge.

What’s the point of a full review when Teague is not getting reviewed. I mean he is an important part of the football dept. Not saying get rid of him but he needs to be reviewed too. What a crock !!

The Football Dept gets shaken and there will something regarding Teague's coaching, connection with Assistant and development Coaches, and Match day set up.

Given its led by Sawyers and not MLG, I think he wants answers/ a response to all the media speculation about Teagues on field, tactics, game plan and general persona.

This is BIG. hence external panelists led by an ex PWC Chairman. There's going to be answers; with this client, its personal.

We could end up with an experienced campaigner like Lyon or Roos or Lepistch as Football Manager with Teague still a coach but with reduced autonomy.

What shits me with you keogh, is the club is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't because the past can't be erased in your head.

Reminds me of an old girlfriend who never gets over the break up.

Its a review. All business and sporting clubs do it all around the world.

And the Board is slowly changing, and I know, even if the names changed on the Board, you would still be whinging with, I told you so, or its a farce because the body in control of the club is still called The Board and not Binary.

I am rapt to be having a Review of the Assistants, the Conditioning Dept, the psychs, the real decison makers who make recommendations to The Board. These are the answers we want answered and addressed.

Most scribes in the Media, with the exception of Robbo and his Newscorp 'yes Robbo' men, Whateley, Ralph and keogh, think the List is fine. Maybe one two or three players short. I bet the doomsdayers, anti carlton linchmob will all back track too when we have the Football Dept, including Game Plan upgraded to an elite standard ie sharpen the edges, get an unconditional brand of footy and weed out the passengers, which only a Review can do. Sacking the Coach isn't what's needed now. I want the football Dept fixed so its fit for purpose. Football first. Politics second. Even if politics is going fine, we will still need Football Dept sorted.

Having a Review of the Football Dept is a good thing and a step in the RIGHT direction, and the timing couldn't be better. Agree with this last line?

There is no point in having a review if you don’t get to the bottom as to why we are 14 th 6 years into a rebuild and why we have been absolute garbage for 17 of the last 20 years of equalization.

In terms of playing footy our midfield is terrible
Why is that?
So who actually decided to recruit players
And who decided to trade or get with free agency the players on our list who are under performing
And what roll the board plays or anyone else besides the List Management team in these decisions being made
Get down to the bare bones for it to be worthwhile

So we should interview and review every single board member, administrator, player, and staff member who has had a role at the club anytime in the last 25 years?

What do we do if we find out it was all Jack Elliots fault? Sack him? What if we realise it’s the AFL’s fault?

Why stop at 20 years? Why not go back 40 years to see what was done right as well?

Some people are still pinning their hopes on this simply being a coaching issue.

Apparently, we have a great list and only a few players short.

Nah, don’t agree. We have bigger problems than that.

Start with the culture and standard setting. Weed out the passengers and find another 6 - 8 players.

We are still years away.

It isn’t simply a coaching issue development player intensity willingness to work hard win at all costs list composition leadership etc etc
It is and always is multiple factors but a key factor in most of those issues is the coaching both senior and otherwise
Management and board need to set winning culture too

Lastly the players need to be not satisfied with mediocrity and have a tough mental edge

Last team that had it was 1999-2000 team players need to be ruthless not pussy cats

Anyhow,Sayers has been there ten years and he can't work it out.........Gotta bring in outsiders to do the brain work for him...........after ten years there you would reckon he would have a clue wouldn't you..............its sorta the same old to me.

To a point Mick. But if it was done internally everyone would say it was pre-determined or a stitch up etc. At least this way they can pretend it's an independent review.

Fair point Mick, but surely Sayers has seen what doesn't work. Too many nice guys.
Lew Holmes, Ivan Rhort and even club legend Ken Hands, all probably nice guys.
And all ousted by George Harris, who could never wear the nice guy moniker.
But, you only get one George Harris !

Just a thought for Luke Sayers to consider.

Won't need a mentor anymore if we get a new coach without training wheels, I suspect...

I'll be interested in Geoff Walsh's view. From memory during his stint at the club we played in 3 Grand Finals (2 losses and 1 win). We haven't sniffed a GF appearance for 22 years.
Surely when he was at the club we were walking a lot taller.

We were also arranging player payments in a particular way too.

Independent review is compromised with sayers and liddle part of it. In particular Sayers who has been involved for 10 years.

It's a review of the football department.
So, it's not a conflict of interest.

I would love to know why Teague seems to be growing in stature as a coach since the review has been announced.
He's gone from "in trouble" to "safe but needs help" without a game being played.
If Covid delays the next few weeks fixture, he'll become Ron Barassi

Not sure Buzza if they get belted by GWS and don’t show much which is more than possible with this team and GWS cranked up after really losing to North I think he will be looking like Brendan Bolton
