Dick, Geoffrey and Mathieson only donated money or pokie machines to the club when the club was going great guns. Never when the club was struggling financially in the past 40 years. No ofcourse NOT. Carlton have been saved by millionaire supporters for years and if there donations were advertised you probably be surprised. Now the game is more commercial clubs can stand on their own two feet with assistance of AFL handouts.

Even when Smorgan was president and the club was in dire straights, Pratt held a function with rich carlton supporters and what ever was raised he doubled. Just in one meeting l think that raised a couple million and Mathieson gave the clubs pokie machines for free.

My point is and hopefully you will understand with your simple mind is that l don't give a toss what these guys do in their personal lives. They have given to the club when needed and for that l respect them in that aspect. They have done more for the club that you have ever done.

I respect those guys more than your 102342323 criticising / negative emails every day on this site, because you have nothing else to do in your life.

Still can't answer simple questions like when you were last member at Carlton, if ever. Or when you attended your last Carlton game. But, continue with your personal comments, l need a good laugh.

That has more to do with the club culture and the sugar daddy mentality we have put ourselves in than whether this club like every other club would exist and probably prosper without them.

I wouldn't be a member of a club that is afraid of venturing away from oligarchical sugar daddy mentality.
Besides I'd rather spend my money on other things than the wastefulness of paying out rats contract for instance or a million dollars to Judd... Or trips to Arizona

We are a football club. The club should be surrounded with names of history and success. Nicholls, Jezza, Doull are names that we can be proud of, NOT Edelsten. I don't care how much money they donate.
