Here i am, however many years later, wanting another grumpy old bastard to come in and clean this shithole up.

I was excited by Malthouse, what a disaster that was.

I fear we do the same again here, yet i still feel like he is what we need.

This is TOTALLY different to Pagan and Malthouse TOTALLY.
Clarkson is the best coach of the modern era if not ever.
He is clearly still at the top of his game and as sharp as any.
If anyone else was coaching Hawthorn they wouldn't have won a game , they are worse then North.
Get Clarkson coz David is slowly killing our club and our kids.

Pagan and Madhouse were washed up and had other agenda's.

Clarko's a good chance to coach a side to the spoon. Tells you something that he may be getting past it. Hawthorn aren't that good but they are better than that.

He's stated numerous times that he won't break his contract. Are you going to kidnap him?

One of the dumbest things I've seen from you, which is saying something.

4 premierships and not getting beaten by more than 7 goals to the bottom side

You know hawthorn are are good chance of the spoon. End up the same issue.

Won't matter who coached us. The poor culture, lack of drive and motivation, or even caring, will just make yet another coach look stupid. Fix all that or we fix nothing. To fix anything you need to get to the root of the problem other wise nothing is achieved.

Why if he is so good then why is his team sitting second last?

What culture does he bring to the team?

Malthouse had 3 and was a great, what good did that do here. He's mid 50's as well as could well be getting past it. They lost to North too, with a near full side. Get to the root of the problem that 6 coaches haven't been able to sort.

We had better kidnap or conjure up head coach form somewhere, because today’s 3 quarter effort was dismal.
In end we were thumped by 18th ranked team, I’m still trying to digest it.

Don’t care Jim if it isn’t Clarkson but the year has been very ordinary and need to arrest the slide

Pagan - shit sandwich he was given, not sure who’d have done well in same situation. Hindsight we’d been better holding our nerve and keeping Brittain.

Malthouse - Diabolical, came into a still relatively talented list which he blew up with no compensation for most of the good players we let go. Hindsight we’d have been better to stick with Ratten.

Now currently, list is healthier longer term looking and club more stable than either 2002 or 2012, so getting an established coach in they should have more to build with.

If we get Clarko I’d back him in, but prefer with stick with Teague.

The Problem we now have is that Clarkson will clearly stay at the hawks for another year to transition Mitchell in so we may be stuck with David for at least 1 more season.

We keep changing coaches and nothing gets arrested. We need to get to the root of the issue otherwise nothing changes. Really need to weed out the non-workers, talented or not, and make it a warning to players to buy in or get out. Essentially, for a coach to succeed here the culture has to change. Unless that changes we talk about the same stuff in 20 years.

Well maybe not that bad then, as we could then still get Clarko instead of getting someone else?

Again I’m not sold on the super coach idea, our problems currently are a combination of injuries (biggest factor today), drafting, coaching overall and Teague himself.

I felt we had made progress with our defensive side of the game the last month, though today was a big step backwards.

No good rationalising. Unless the culture changes the coach is dead man walking from the start. Initial sugar hit then by the 3rd year the players are doing the same thing. With Malthouse it was the 3rd year where we stopped working, 3rd year with Bolton, and 3rd year again. Only thing is the win/loss ratio has been much better under Teague than those other two. sort the root of the problem otherwise we just embarrass another coach.

We put out the same effort in 2012 against a depleted Gold Coast when a win would get us into the 8. Cost Ratten his job, something we have regretted ever since. Ratten had the ability to get something out of sides with shit cultures, 3 finals at Carlton, one at St.Kilda, but it gets them in the end.
