Teague has to evaluate whether he has the fortitude to absorb another season of media & supporters analysis and scrutiny .
Pressure will continue frenetically in 2022 , the gap to breach between top 8 teams and our standard is considerable.

I bet you don't.

If this so called parasite delivers no17 ill bet you'll be celebrating like every other member.
I hate Clarkson as much as any BUT if he becomes OUR coach then I'm all in.
Ask the 70k members from the hawks if they want him to continue.
Yet people want to stick with a guy that has the worst defensive structure of any coach.
A guy that comprises selection every week.
A guy that accepts lack of effort from senior players.
A guy that can't develop our young players.
A guy that doesn't have a game plan when things go wrong.
A guy that fails to address run ons during games.
A guy that drops kids after 1 poor game BUT keeps senior players week in week regardless of output.
A guy that refuses to put faith in our youth the FUTURE of this club.

But hey why would we want a 4 time Premiership coach of the last 15 years.
And for those advocating that this is similar to Pagan or Malthouse coming your totally wrong.
This is TOTALLY different.
Pagan and Malthouse were finished and had different agenda's when we they came.

Alistair Clarkson is still in the top 5 coaches in the comp.
There's a reason most if not all the ex footy people in media still rate him.

If his fire to coach is there I agree with everything just said deano.

If we need to 'convince him' to not take a year off then I'd look elsewhere.

I disagree though that he's in the top 5 coaches in the comp.

I reckon he's the top coach in the comp.

Clarkson can take a year off, put his feet up & get paid a million dollars by the Hawks to do it, is that right?

But if he takes a job elsewhere for 2022, that club picks up the Hawks bill?

If that is right I almost hope he does the former just to screw over their soft cap.

I still have faith in Teague as a coach, however I am all in for interviewing Clarkson.

If we are to appoint Clarkson, then he needs to do a full presentation including a complete review of the list as where he see's it at. If his attitude is that his record speaks for itself and we should be thankful that he is offering his services then he can f@#k right off.

If Clarkson is appointed without due diligence then this has messiah complex written all over it again and we k now better than every other team how that works out.

I have an inkling that we will continue with Teague and if we replace him with Clarkson it may be the end of 2022.

This will have lesser impact on our soft cap, which would hinder Clarkson building his preferred team of assistants around him.

This gives Teague the benefit of the doubt the injuries had on his ability to field a winning combo. If "Teague's Gift continues next year, along with continued losses as a result, the club will reach out to Clarkson.

The argument against is that SOS along with the club invested in this list, and there are question marks on Teague's ability to develop the young ones on the list.

The Review may find that the club failed to provide the right Assistants to develop the kids.

The rumour is the club has already put its feelers out there, and Sayer's has been courting Clarkson before the North capitulation. Just because the club hasn't spoken with the likes of Lyon, Pyke etc doesn't mean the club hasn't spoken with their managers for any type of coaching, mentoring role.

Soft Cap has more say than we think.

Yeah, I just don't get it.
People seem to be hung up on a few instances that happened a long long time ago (I agree they were poor at the time), thinking that these are the reasons he would come to the club to give it to us one last time. I personally like to live in the now and what could be.
At a guess, I would like to think he has too much ego to allow us to be crap and he would love to stick it to the Hawks and I'm happy for us to be the catalyst for that.

The benefit for us would be:
He could implement systems to make our bottom players look like A graders.
He will attract talented players like he did at the Hawks.
He will attract the right support staff to set up a new "winning" culture.
He could may well bring us our 17th premiership and some.

The benefits for him would be:
He sticks it to the Hawks.
He becomes the outright best AFL coach to ever coach the game.

All my mates I talk to about the possibility of him coming over are pissed, including Hawks supporters and especially my Essenscum* ones.
