I think you’re meant to turn up five days before he coaches his first game.

Obviously.

You two are flowers of the highest order.

Not just first degree.

Nth degree.

Lol (all tongue in cheek in case it wasn’t understood)

FWIW, did anyone see Jordan Lewis' comments when asked if Carlton should approach Clarkson to replace Teague.
"The grass isn't always greener"
Interesting view from someone who retains extensive contacts within Hawthorn and knows Clarko very well.

The same Jordan Lewis that thought when Clarko was coming to visit him at home that he was going to be made captain of Hawthorn but was instead told it would be in his best interest to find a new club, that Jordan Lewis.

The oracle of all things CFC on BF is saying Clarkson will give his decision in the next few days.

I really do hope the Carlton board were presented with high quality powerpoints from Clarkson.

Coaching success and failure is dependent on good PPT slides.

Reckon Bolts would have given him his blackboard and chalk backgrounds to use as a style template to bring back the classroom vibe

It was fair enough though.

Anybody who’s met us would recognise immediately that BV and I are utter flowers.

Just adding comment that hadn't previously been mentioned, Deano.
Settle down. I'm not having potshots at your new messiah.

Are you sure his comments weren’t directed at Clarkson?

I'm just adding some context to your comments not sure why you'd think I would be upset and I don't have a messiah just want the best for our club to get No17 and so on.

I personally don't really care who the new head coach is out of the names being spoken about, but I would hate to have another rookie coach.

But in saying that, how good would it be if the following happened:
Clarkson - Head coach
Leppitsch - Assistant
Buckley - Assistant
Voss - Assistant
Power - Assistant

I know, highly unlikely/virtually impossible.
But hey, it's silly season for us already?

In principle I’ve got no issue with getting Clarkson if he’s interested and feels he has something to bring, and this is a key recommendation from the review.

However, I’ll be annoyed if (ala Malthouse):
- Our entire process was “just call Clarko”
- Clarko would just be doing it for the money and not through a belief in the group
- We’ve not given thought to putting a decent team around him and leave every decision to him

But I was referring to real flowers.

Not [redacted].

Lol

It’s good to still be in touch with some of the old guard from 15-20 years ago.

Agreed Don
Regardless of who is hired, the club needs to run a comprehensive and exhaustive process
We’ve done the non-exhaustive process before and it doesn’t work
Bring in a number of candidates and hear them out with an open mind
Follow due process for once if that’s not too much to ask for a “professional” organisation

Yeah and it’s appropriate DD and good governance neither of which we have been very good at for at least 30 years
