MELBOURNE has won the race to secure the services of former Adelaide coach Neil Craig.

The Dees are poised to announce Craig has signed on to a post as head of the club's football department.

He will act as a mentor to new coach Mark Neeld.

Melbourne beat several teams wooing the sacked Crows coach, headed by Carlton and Brisbane.

Dees supporters just a little bit excited over this.

Connolly, Schwab.... think they're a fair way off having their act together. They've got a boys club mentality down there which puts our to shame. And they don't have the success our boys club members do.

They're still a mess.

They got rid of Connolly.
They upgraded Bailey to Neeld.

Baby steps.

Connolly is still there. And despite the fact he isn't in the footy dept, he's still a part of the circle. Nothing has changed.

New role : "General Manager of Club Development"

Sounds like he's just pushing paper clips and being kept out of the way to me.

Anyway they "wooed" Craig and got him.
They will be creaming in their landrovers

My point is - with him, Schwab and Lyon, the title becomes irrelevant.

But I agree in the sense that Craig is a huge lift for them. To raise the integrity level if nothing else.
