That was actually a good discussion :?

No, it was completely irrelevant to this thread and only going down one path.

Either start a whole "women belong/don't belong in coaching" thread, or move on. I'm sick of reading this horseshit.

Could we entice Eleni Glouftsis into an Assistant Coach's role?
I think it could work because she knows our players well having umpired so many of our games.

Sanderson seems to be the most experienced available (including having had a senior role). He's also less flight risk in terms of likely looking for another go.
Probably getting poached by Buckley if he gets another go is the main concern.

from that list, Montgomery is someone I admired at Carlton back around 2008 and I've wanted back at Carlton as an assistant.

He has a wealth of experience and a Premiership player. Left us and went back to Doggies before heading to his old team at Port after missing the chance as Doggies Head Coach which was given to Bevo.

He's been at Port since then and I'm interested in who Voss has earmarked from Port. Montgomery may be one. Bassett is the other who has been given rave reviews since coaching SAFL.

She sees the game better than most, IMO.

Who?

Daisy said the first half of the Grand Final was a game of two halves.

It's a common and legitimate football term. The teams each dominated a quarter.
If that's the worst comment she made, she's doing OK.

She's doing very well compared to BT, very low bar to clear I know. How that clown got, let alone keeps his job in the media beats me.

Better commentator that BT is a bit like second best Carlton coach after Ratts this century

But agree BT has been rubbish lately. Was there a bit post match yesterday when he asked a question to the Dees player but said it directly to Hodge? Dees player just stood there thinking WTF. Can't recall who, maybe Gawn

Adelaide's Tom Lynch has always impressed me with his footy smarts. He just reads the game so well.

I wonder how he would go in a developmental role. Greats skills to go with his natural smarts.

Back in 2008 I use to watch him at Haileybury College. It was always interesting at the 1/4 breaks. He would be giving more instructions than the Coach, who I think at the time was his father

So, who do we think Voss will actually get for the remaining three or four assistant roles?
Feels like Lappin might be one of them.

Damn.

First Tapping to Effendopes* and now Lappin.

A lot of head hunting for good assistants going on.

I can't remember another season when so many assistants were moved on or moved at their own free will to other clubs.

There may well be people who we get who haven't rated a mention on here.
Then the reaction (here) will be, ''What were they thinking''?
