If that happened I would be more excited than in a long time. Just looking at his CV of turning suburban/country league players into AFL standard, let alone AA standard, makes me a little bit hard.

Talk about Rise in the Levis

I'm getting worked up.

I'll believe it when I see it, but I believe, and an optimist for all things Navy Blue.

Good things take time.

Our rebuild started, post Malthouse bullshit era, at the end of 2015.

6 years later, we have a new President driving a quest for high performance on every level.

Slightly off topic, but under a Scarlett-run baclkine I'd love to see what 'Gov can do as an intercept mark down there... akin to his brother and what Port have done with Aliir Aliir. Just fill the leading lanes and let Weiters/Jones (and eventually Kemp) do the rest 1-on-1 with the tall forwards.

Only last night after a couple, I was comfortable to consider Gov for the intercept spot.

But I haven't gone soft on Gov, coz he's done nothing to impress me with regards to his commitment to be a success at carlton.

I do think it is worth a go especially under the tuition of someone like Scarlett. At present Gov is our next best option to replace Jones.

McDonald, Silvagni, Kemp & a one-legged Marchbank are all better options than McGovern at CHB.

Cameron Bruce is gone too now. He is joining Brisbane.

So we will see a fresh coaching group. Hopefully Luke Power stays with Voss. Hopefully we get Scarlett and Nigel Lappin too.

Gov is a midget for the FB position.

Imagine 190cm Gov against 195cm Aaron Naughton, or 200cm Charlie Dixon?

Against Melbourne, which one of Ben Brown and Luke Jackson would Gov take? Both 200cm.
Against Geelong which one of Hawkins and Cameron does Gov take?

Gov is a bit too short for the intercept mark TBH, but he does have a good leap on him.

A bit surprised about this.

Did he choose to go or was he pushed?

No reason why Power would go .. is there?

Scarlett and Lappin would be fantastic. Everything Ive heard over the years about both very good. Lappin was talked about as coach material

I don't think we will know, unless we get to see the review report.

What am I missing with Power? Didn't the review identify poor development as part of our problems? Was he not part of development?
Surely at the very least he needs to answer some questions?

Power was only hired at the start of 2020 so a bit hard to say how good or bad he has been, so makes sense for him to stay.

Not saying he should be sacked. Am aware he hasn't been there long, but I would have thought some questions at the very least should have been asked of him in light of the review.
