I'm out (& a little bit shattered).

My Mysterious Grand Final Drinking Injury (torn pec) hasn't come good... the last minute fitness test has proven that I can't mark above my head without pain and tackling with any sort of force with my left arm is an impossibility.

In a bid to get myself up for this game I'd canvassed the AFL experts who offered these pearls of wisdom:
Grant T - try training services, not quite sure what they do but they've done a great job with soft tissue injuries so far
Kevin S - tell everyone you've got the Flu & play dumb about any injury
The Eagles boys - take the red pill or the blue pill, or both... won't feel a thing (& it'll really piss Aka off)
Dean L - no advice for the injury but did mention the Roos are interested in trading Daniel Wells and next years first rounder for me
Denis P - told me to 'suck it up princess' and get out there and do a job on the 16 year old super fit winger. Pointed out that I wasn't suited to that role - he said it'd be good for my development
Alistar L - make like it's your last match ever and just start swinging
Tyrant - GIBBS!
Nathan B - told me to wax my chest/back/sack/crack - sounds more painful than the pec thing to me and not sure how it'd help

Alas nothing they could come up with has helped, the 30 year old body just doesn't recover like the 'good old days'. Still really keen for the next match, hope my track record to date doesn't mean I'll be lambasted for pulling out so late. Sorry Guys.

Well in the past 24-48 hours we've had 3 or 4.

It doesn't matter all that much because we had a bench to work with, but still.

That's not too bad, you made it sound like we lost about 30% of the squad!

Chin up, there's a game to be won. 8)

Righto, well I'm heading off now.

I won't be any where near a computer for the rest of the day so if anyone who wants to play comes on here and asks to play while I'm not here, you're more than welcome.

Just remember to bring shorts, a jumper/ something navy blue, runners/boots if you have them and to be at the ground at around 1pm. Game kicks off at 2/2:30.

See you all there!

GO YOU @#$%&! BLUES!!!!!

Talking Carlton were up by 5 goals over Bomber Blitz. However Bomber Blitz got some good players that turned up at half time & ran out winners by two goals.

Bizarrely, having a drink with a couple of the BB people after the game, I found them to be decent human beings.

Great game to watch, and 79 Vintage's goal in the second quarter was one Eddie Betts would be proud to have kicked.

Italian Styles very stylish with his moves in the last quarter.

FirearmsFev a contender for the Norm Smith.

Tommi's dog Zachary best at taking the piss, particularly on two people's legs (including mine).

Thanks for organising the game PJ et al; it was a hoot.

The most competitive game in the last couple.

We had them on toast early, then more players turned up for them (even a ring in or two) and from there we got over run, partly there good play partly our bad play.

Well done to them and more ammunition for us next time.

I guess the most important questions should be

1) Any fights?
2) Any cute birds?
