Ollie earnt his recall.

Good point, It will be interesting to see if he plays reserves, as stated he did cop a big hit last week and looked in pain.

Carlton defender Lewis Young has come into the side for tomorrow night’s game against Richmond.

Young will replace Harry Dean, who experienced a cut to his hand and is unable to take his place in the side. Dean is expected to available to play next week against Hawthorn.

Young had made seven appearances for the Blues so far this season.

Don't mind this. I didn't want the dirty sniping Lynch anywhere near the kid.
Young has been very good in the VFL and deserves the call up.

Huge surprise to see Acres dropped, but not surprised to see an inform ollie Hollands who is champing at the bit.

He was the man who stood up when we turned our form around in the 2nd half vs Lions and easily our best imo vs Doggies. Last 2 weeks in VFL he's been most dominant Blues player.

Acres did cop a knock end of game. He's been named in the centre for the VFL team. We need a strong body like his in the middle in the VFL game.

Far out.

My no 1 choice vs Lunch was Lewis Young. He's having his best year. But I was happy to give the job to Dean because of the team defense work ethic the team has bought into.

Young will let Lynch take marks around 50, but somehow I don't think Lynch will get the opportunities the Tigers mids gave him. We are much tighter in the middle, and Cerra's defensive wing role sees Cerra taking most intercept marks in the last 7 weeks. Hollands is pretty good playing defensive wing like Acres too.

I had already advocated in this thread bringing in Young for the Lynch job, so no disappointment there. But I was thinking in place of DDMJ, not Harry NRS AA Dean.

Unless I see evidence of this cut, I'm putting my tin foil hat on and saying we are resting him for Hawthorn.

Agree on Young. He's always been OK one v one but his decision making with the ball has been poor. Seems to be moving the ball on quicker in the VFL which has been his biggest concern in the past IMO. Holds onto it too long before disposing. His height is a better match up as well.

Netball grand final takes priority tonight. Go Vixens!
Will tune in for 2nd half but honestly can't see any reason to worry. I know our fragile group like to get ahead of themselves and crumble under any sort of expectation but Richmond are next level crap.
Shouldn't be close.

This game is as important as the previous 6 and the next 7.

List spots are at stake, as is a Finals spot, as is next week's spot in the team.

Cripps Hewett and Walsh have been huge in the midfield battles.
This week they are up against big bodied Taranto and Ross and Trent's kid, Taj Hotton

With Smith and Ainsworth going through the midfield we should win that area.

The rest depends on us continuing a selfless game focussed on Team defense: Contest and Pressure.

The arsy Lalor isn't playing, and hopefully Ainsworth or Cottrell give Short heeps to think about and stop him from starting attack from backline.

Ther's a room that caters for people with nerve issues.

Just grab a couple mushies before the game and go with the flow ... enjoy the ride.

I'm sure most forward entries by Tigers will be under pressure, such has been our mantra since 2nd half vs Lions.

Having 202cm Young in the backline and his long reach killing high ball with his spoiling should kill any threat from Lynch.

Derksen Young Haynes and Cowan should be able to defend Lynch and Balta in the air.

Its on the ground the Tigers are set up to win ball with a shorter forward line full of midfielder.

Got to keep an eye on Mansell. He's sharp around goal.
