Jones' payout is included in this year's draft.
Him leaving gives us $450K?
Durdin replaced Jones in MSD

Compensation maybe round 3 pick (read somewhere)

Williamson retired use pick 12

Fogarty delisted use pick 30

There's 3 picks.

Trade pick for Jones for Sholl (22yo)

Upgrade LOB
Upgrade Cottrell

If we delist Marchbank and/or Cuningham with view to rookie, some team will snap them up imo, especially Marchbank.
I'd risk Cuningham, not Marchbank. Cuningham wont be seen at AFL level but Marchbank has and all the hype with that.

Newman and Newnes would be the other 2 we could delist and rookie safely. S. Durdin is the other one who is OOC.

McDonald is a rookie, so he may stay or delisted, Ditto Parks. They could make way for 2 players we delist.

I can't see any cheap FA or DFA we would go after.

I'd be happy with pick 12 and 30 for ND, or 12, 30 and whatever we get for Dow bundled for a higher pick from ND, and Sholl: 3 new players...and not losing Marchbank.

I trust Austin, and the decision he makes on the OOC injured players

Maximum of six Category A and two Category B.

No more than 44 total.

Thanks Cru

What is our current profile?

Akuei is Next Gen. Is he Cat B.
Owies still a Cat B? Surely that must expire too.

The 44 includes Cat A, B and Next Gen (if they are a different Category)?

Initial Players I would be grateful to upgrade over the next 2-3 years:

Seniors

Tom Williamson (done)
Ed Curnow 33yo (retire)
Fogarty (Depth)
Plowman (Depth)
Hayes (Depth)
Newnes 28yo (Depth)
Newman 28yo (Depth)
Cuningham (he breaks down rather than broken by others)
Dow (( Try work on improving trade value)
Setterfield ( Try work on improving trade value)

Rookies

Parks (Depth)
Oscar (Depth)
LOB (promote this year, with view to increase trade value)

Hopefully Philp gets to full fitness and takes the role earmarked for Dow

Promote from Rookie/ Cat B to List

LOB (otherwise he's a DFA)
Cottrell? (unless he was elevated in 2021)
Owies ? (he's been playing since 2019)

I reckon you're right and we'll get an end of 3rd rounder. Probably 7 shades of useless unless we really want Sholl

Sholl will cost bugger all. A pick in the 30's could be very handy especially if we want to package it for higher pick. Austin definietly wants to bring in a group of younger players

They’re all the rage.

Especially the contracted ones that you absolutely, 100%, without question, will have to pay overs to get.

It's just a rumour and if he comes it will be cheap. Belief is he is an elite ball user

sholl will play against on weekend get bog and then we recruit him old play well against us rule .If we get a 3rd rounder for L Jones ,we should ask Hawks, syd, coll and even ess recruting people to help us select with late pick cause they seem to nail that roughie selection

If Jones gets a rumoured 3 year deal that give is a pick in the 30s which would be good

Do you trust Austin?

Do you want an improvement on LOB?

Newnes isn't going to get any better, Setterfield was also dropped during the year.

Cottrell and Sholl on the wings? If Austin says so. Especially so, if Voss wants him too.

Has the 69 left a bad taste in your mouth?

There's no late picks in our best 22, other than rookies Cottrell Owies and Honey

Sad

Correct me if I'm wrong but if we get a 3rd rounder it'll be either at the end of the 3rd round (currently 54 is last pick in the 3rd round) or immediately after our 3rd round pick (which we don't have) but would be 48 currently I believe.

If it's a third rounder? AFL haven't even decided on criteria yet
