My first choice would be to sound out Talia and see where he is at.
Paddy McCartin may be another to look at?
Failing that, consider the options Teddy Hopkins mentioned above.

I agree with this.

I wouldn't commit to any ridiculously exy or long contracts though, for obvious reason.

But yes, we don't have much depth nor experience in that position.

I am a little miffed by all this, I mean would the club not have known ages ago that LJ wasn't keen on the jab? Should they not have tried to get an experienced tall defender? Maybe they rate OMac?

It’s worth calling Talia to find out if he is willing and able to play for us next year. It’s unlikely going by what’s been reported, but it can’t hurt to have the chat. He’d be ideal for 12 months while we search for longer term options.

I would suspect if his leg is OK he would consider it because he always struck me as a genuine competitor.

If he is physically and mentally cooked, obviously we shouldn’t touch him. But if he is willing to move back to Vic and eek one more season out of himself, then we should definitely look at him.

Talia, Macreadie, Casboult, Ben Silvagni… hilarious.

The only way to replace a player like Jones, at this time of the year, is through the draft and just accept that it’s going to take time.

We’re in a pickle because Marchbank is more out than in, but temporary replacements like the above are a waste of space.

Him or McGovern IMO. I still feel the Gov will make a better back than forward and given the current situation time to give him a solid go there. we have plenty of options up forward.

For the McGovern supporters, he is 191cm. How do you expect him to play KPD? 3rd yes KPD no.

Mind you, it may depend on the structure of the opposition but we can't count on it.
