So... umm... shouldn't this game be postponed given the 14 day isolation requirement ..?

Only those tested positive and those in close contact (>15 min face2face or > 2hours in the same inside area)

My guess is that if the other players are negative (unlikely) and then negative again say on Friday, game may go ahead or rescheduled to allow for >5 day break from the Melb game

Sort of makes a mockery of the ol forward press don't it

Wouldn't have happened if they were still on the gear.

I'm no Dumbers fan.... But I don't understand why they would say which player it is....

Allows every lunatic to start speculating on causes and reasons...

Yep. Not our problem. Can’t turn up then you get no points.

Why should we have to play more games in less days because of these cauliflower?

Truthfully I do not think we would lose anything by dropping Setters (and I have been on his side for a while) Cunningham (though his replacement needs leg speed - Cunningham's speed early was helpful) Plowman, SPS, or Newnes

I feel the same way.

I've hoped and believed Setterfield would step up from last year when he had a couple of games 20+ possessions.
Given he was coming off an ACL he still did alright last year.

Unfortunately, Setters has gone backwards imo. Yes he tackles (laid 6 yesterday) and has got good closing speed to tackle, but he's not really influencing the game at all.
3 kicks and 5 handballs playing high forward/mid s just not being in the game enough. 87 Metres gained isn't much ground. Not sure what his role is.

Dow and Fish are my preference ahead of Setters and Newnes.
SPS is in lala land. He's good when he's good, but he really isn't imposing himself on the game, and I feel he's too lose t HB.

I need to find out how players went in the scratch match v Cats yesterday before I foam an opinion on what to do about SPS. I'm really keen to hear how Honey and Philp went yesterday.

I thought Plowman had some good moments running the ball out, albeit too few for my liking, but was too loose at times for me, also made some blunders, but until there's someone better he's still important. Driving the ball from the backline, he gained 89 metres which is better than his negative 26 metres from last week, but I still want more attacking from him.

Essendrugs can still field a team next Saturday, despite having a dozen or so in isolation.

I keep hearing about their riches and how much depth they have.

They would have 22 players available to play next week.

I want to smash them and Shiel.

The may be forced to play without 6 to 8 players... I can't deal with this level of bravery

Holy cow, I was kidding, and kind of hoping.

I didn't believe the AFL what do the right thing so that the show goes on. I thought the AFL would continue to give the Druggies a leg up.

The cheats will just say they have to isolate more players than they actually have to and cry poor that they can't field a team so the fixtures will be rescheduled.

It's going ahead. Rules are as long as they have 22 fit players.

I have already started having nightmares about the headlines if Essendon** do win this.

Essendon* will come out firing with a 'nothing to lose' mentality whilst we will be complacent and feeling good about ourselves for beating the Cats the previous week. We know how this story usually ends....

Let's not forget we lost to them when they had players missing due to being drug cheats. On top of that coming off a great win on a ground we haven't won on for 24 years. Everything points to us getting ahead of ourselves

At the very least, seven of McKenna’s teammates face a potential two-week quarantine for their close contact with the Irishman during a Friday weight session before his positive test result on Saturday.

The Herald Sun revealed those seven players were the backline group, despite advice from the AFL not to stage training with too many players from the same line close together.

Those players were: Adam Saad, Cale Hooker, Michael Hurley, Matt Guelfi, Jordan Ridley and Mason Redman.

Looks like he deliberately breached the rules. If Essendon* can't field a side surely we then get the 4 points under those circumstances. It's not out fault and should not be penalised.

Other teams getting penalised as collateral damage due to Essendon* @#$%&! things up all by themselves? Pretty sure that's actually in the AFL's charter for running the game. Comes under the "Thou shalt have a strong Essendon*" clause.
