Swapping 7 for Jaksch, 19 and another lower pick (40-50) would have been better..... Even an upgrade of lower picks at least.
Don't rate Whiley.

I rated the Jaksch trade much higher before I saw the bloke play!

cmon whiley and jaksch are two young players with aboyt 15 games between them playing in the bottom side a bit harsh and premature assessment

I rate all players I see play highly until they come to us. We reduce even the best to medicracy.

Jaksch is a better kick than Bower.

Not looking great for the trade overall.
Very early days, but signs suggest mediocrity.

We could have picked up Peter Wright if we kept pick 7. :hitcomputer:

And that was pick 7!! Imagine how many average players we could get onto the list with pick 1.... !!

Just kidding...

But i might swap pick 1 for a number of 'high picks' if the draft is a good one.

also listening to a recruiter from another team (one that tends to end up near the top of the ladder) and he was just chatting about a tall and how he expected the tall to take 5 years to develop. Not here on TC we want them now! Boom or Bust Boom or Bust!

Physical strength yes you would have to agree
But skills shouldn't be any longer than the little ( not so little blokes)
Just because they are 6 ft 6 doesn't mean it should take them longer to learn how to kick the ball than it does a bloke who is 6 ft 2 or 3

But he can kick, or at least eh arrived being thought of as an excellent kick - isn't amazing what a few months in a shit environment can do to your skills....

I'd still like to know whose idea it was and what was the process and reasoning behind it. :?

I wasn't necessary referring to one player I think this bloke will go ok. But in general terms you tell if a bloke is going to be any good whether he be big or small by his skills not his physical strength or running ability

That selection is the Stephan Bradbury of team selections. Worse even. Was OK in the reserves by all reports, but they have everyone banning themselves from senior selection at the moment.

He was a weird one in the draft, I think the recruiters wanted him to be a ruckman, but he was one of the leading goal kickers in the TAC for 2 years as he played alongside Reilly O'Brien. Enough talent to warrant the selection, and they can build a team around him there.
