Simple as that.

We were living in hope.

We all knew Hawks Lions Freo would be a bridge too far.

Our gaps are obvious when the rain stopped

:banghead: Pretty sure we are the dumbest football team in wet weather.
Trying the small short sideways pass in driving rain that gets turned over for a goal

Disgraceful.

All night we should've just been banging the ball forward 50-60m every posession and we try the dry weather stuff.

Just silly football.

$%&* off hawks. Hope you choke it up again.

Next 2 weeks will determine a few things. Finals. Coach.

We would have been better if it was dry tonight. We are not smart enough for wet weather football.

If we could find a way to isolate McKay at FF like Hawks do with Gunston

If……if we had Sam Mitchell?

Regarding rucking in the centre circle, I take it that the ruck is allowed to jump over the centreline and land on the other side without actually touching the ball? And then contest the ball?

Does the rule state that you just can’t step over the line before you jump?

You’re not allowed to step over the line in any circumstances

Okay, so I’ve had a look, and all I could find was this:

18.4.3 Free Kicks - Ruck Contests
A field Umpire shall award a Free Kick in a Ruck contest against a Player where the Player:

(e) who is a Ruck, enters their attacking half or steps outside the Centre Circle prior
to the field Umpire throwing up the football

Hawks are good , smart and well drilled

Good reality check and highlights we’ve got work to do. We will get there.

In truth, we all know that

We weren't looking at winning the flag, so the Hawks, Lions and Freo aren't the issue. We just looking at a wildcard and hoping to win week 1, hence beating the sides around us.

After last week we were due for a loss too.

Don't like the way we have tossed it in tonight either. Soon as Ison missed that chance to put us close it's like we dropped our heads and gave up.

I just cant believe how bad we are.

We just gifted hawthorn so many easy goals. We just blatantly just kicked the ball straight to them.

Derksen, Hollands - just really really bad.

Our mids unsighted. Walsh, Cripps, Smith.

Ainsworth, Kemp - hopeless.

Just gave up, and refuses to put bodies on the line. No excuse for it. Ok you cant win them all, but dont give up. Dont just make error after error.

Bloody Cowan getting called off the ball by a hawthorn player, and he complies. Just sums it all up. Just go for the damn ball.

Hawthorn better, but of course they are when we just give them the ball. The umps gave them so many frees in front of goal.

I am just ropeable. Not because i thought we would win, but cause we gave up and we played so poorly. Leading from the Captain downwards.

Now hopefully we won't get too bent over for the Cody walker pick

I haven't watched the game, but going by stats, i can see that Kemp is the complete definition of a potato again
