Is this a St Kilda thread ....

I knew I'd regret that choice of words. :)

I reckon they'll all get given games. They're just taking fkn forever to do it

Ramsay is 70kg wringing wet.
Honey isn’t an impact player. Sometimes the game comes his way & he does ok, but there are no weapons in his arsenal.
Kemp & Carroll flash brilliance, but they’re still learning - Evel Knieval couldn’t jump the gap between their best and worst.

If we’re gifting games, we may as well bring Murphy straight back in.

Don't see the problem allowing first year and some cases second year players learn their craft in VFL. I think we all want them to hold their spots when coming in. We have a history of playing them a few games then dropping them, then people complain why we are not winning games while playing raw undeveloped kids.

Kemp hasn't played any football for two years and Carrol is still building his body and learning - he has only played 2-3 good games all year what's the rush.

Even Cripps played mostly reserves in his first year as a first round pick Carrol came to the club as pick 41.

That’s the spirit mate , great forward thinking by you , don’t play kids who
Need exposure and see were they are at , let’s play overrated player like Murphy who has been finished for 2 years and we will play short whenever he plays ,,,

Inspiring stuff

FWIW, I agree he's not ready but Honey has elite pace. To suggest he has no weapons is incorrect IMO.

Maybe he could give athletics a go.

Quite possibly. I'm not saying he will become a consistent AFL player but some later picks are worth it if they have a standout quality.
I think you're underselling him to say he doesn't have any weapons.

The umpires definitely will. The Collingwood players might. That'll probably be it

I haven’t , just play the kids to give them experience , eventually they need to have a taste for it , and no better time than the remaining games of the season with.nothing on the line ,

The pies gave poulter and Bianco a good run of games to pick up the pace of afl ... there is no logic reason why honey shouldn’t be playing !! Have a look at owies and how much he has improved by playing with Eddie betts ,

Have to agree with Azza on this one, it’s criminal that Martin and Williams get to waltz around in the seniors with no fear of ever being dropped. Give guys like Honey and run and use that to put some pressure on these guys.

Honey’s performances have merited at least a few games in the seniors.

I'll be interested to see how we line up today.
8 defenders named which leads us to believe one will play wing or midfield. On face value you'd think it's Stocker or Williams but Cottrell being selected makes you think Walsh will also play predominantly midfield and Cottrell will play defensive wingman.
I'd like to see SPS play forward. He's looked when played there but the MC seem to push him consistently onto the wing. He has smarts, is deceptively strong overhead (A very good leap) and he tends to use it well around the front half.
Some interesting selection for this week. Hopefully there is a plan in place to justify them.

But where gifting games to individuals now
So what if Ramsay is 70 kg( he is 75 kg)
Other players are of similar weight and do ok in the AFL
Honey does have the tools to make an impact
Carroll deserves a game on what he has put out
Kemp I would give a taste because he has a lot of potential
Your talking shit

Can’t wait for Cottrell’s standard 7 clangers from 12 possessions. We’ve really missed him

Cottrell is playing? I didn't think he made the cut

Interchange.

23rd man last week. Didn't play, but didn't get dropped.
Rewarded for his BOG performance in the Reserves combined Blues-Roos team vs Box Hill Hawks.

I'm not sure about Cottrell but we are bereft of mids fit enough to run all day with all the injuries.
Fisher may get midfield/ wing minutes. I'm guessing he hasn't been conditioned to play midfield (ie not match fit for such a running role on the MCG).

interesting watching the hawks last night and Saints last week. Average sides who tackle ferociously. We tackle a bit in F50 and a bit when defending the goal line. Apart from that we helpfully corral, guard space and are courteous enough to ensure opposition teams have time to collect their thoughts, weigh up options and not be worried about physicality. Bless us.
