Get well Stevo, you've got a Brownlow to win!

Well maybe b/c he's confident about it all it won't be too bad. We must remember the club and him don't know the results yet, so it is nto out of control yet. We'll see yet.

Terrible news. :(

The most important thing is his long term health and not getting back on the field, but is the insurance situation any different to what Chris Grant went through :?:

This looks bad, let's hope it's not.

Also bad for Murph. With Nick out Murph will have the number 1 tagger.

.
Subject to one final opinion Nick Stevens will require surgery and be out for rest of this season.

Jackson elevated to senior list.

Thanks for the info, you have been accurate in the past.

Not good, but an opportunity for Jackson.

What I want to know is did the club perform these same scans last year when he first got the injury?

Sounds to me like bluesy909 is spot on - he would be going to sydney to get a 2nd opinion for something they already have a bad diagnosis on rather than to discover answers they do not yet have.
Even if the Sydney diagnosis is better, I would still expect them to take the conservative approach.
It is shattering news. I hope he is ok first, ok to play in the future 2nd and that we re-sign him.

Jackson's elevation = good.
What about Bower into backline, Walker into midfield?

PS. Murphy will beat the tags!

I wonder what kind of contract Stevens will get from the club if he's out for this season...

His contract expires at the end of this season

What was he on, and what should we offer him?

In other news, shit. That's just not very nice at all to have a season ending injury like that. In any case, as with Johns, the number one priority is being able to continue with a good life after football. It's not worth paralysis to get just one more game...

Best wishes Stevo.

Massive hit to the side and to Stevens, but as usual with bad news comes opportunity and that's exactly what a bunch of kids have now.

Hopefully both the club and Nick will not rush this one, we'll find out a lot about our future core over the next 19 weeks while Nick gets his neck right

That suggestion of yours to trade him last year's looking good now.

Who will get the best tagger now?

 Shit. All the best for Nick, and here's hoping he can get himself right for season 2008 and beyond.

Otherwise, we'll have to trade him to the Kangaroos for their first and second-round draft picks.

Kouta will be back in 5 weeks so that will take some pressure of our young guys. Let's hope Nick is OK. If he needs to sit out the remainder of the season then so be it. Hope he recovers.
It's time for the young brigade of the likes of Murphy, Gibbs, Bentick, Walker, Blackwell, Simpson, Grigg etc to fly the flag. Expect Houlihan and Scotland to rotate through the middle more often as well. Promote Jackson and give him game time. By 2008 when Stevo hopefully returns we should have a powerful midfield to take on anyone. Let's keep the faith.
I hope Stevo's injury does not cost Denis Pagan his job as he will be judged on our win/loss ratio this year.
