There is a rumour doing the rounds that Cripps is out.
Surely not.

Nice one Syd, thanks. Maybe if we keep talking about how small the SCG is, it'll drag him back in. Kind of like a Beetlejuice situation.

The SCG is tiny
The SCG is tiny
The SCG is... (deep rumble)

Well, it is a little smaller.

Might have to take a trip to Deni to look at their pencil shaped ground!

Every club who has played Fremantle in season 2024 has lost its next match.

From Round 1 against Brisbane to Round 8 against Richmond, and every other game in between, Freo’s opponent has then been beaten the next time they played, regardless of the previous result or the venue.

this is the analysis i pay my subs for. :-)

also, every single tipper in Hearld Sun tipping comp has gone for sydney (except McClure if he’s in that list). i don’t know what the history of that stat is but it gives me hope! same way when we went in favourites against Cats ingot very very nervous. yikes, no confidence.

when we’re so easily written off against a team we beat to go to a prelim ~9 months ago i think we might a chance. though on form obviously swans in the box seat.

if Voss and co can “ask some good questions” of the opposition (and of themselves and their apparent matchday inflexibility) this week then maybe we get up.

was feeling ok about this earlier in the week, free slog at the top of the table Swans and all that.

but Cottrell, Martin and Cerra are big outs. Williams maybe feeling iffy. all have a lot of upside when playing at their best and can still get a job done when they're not playing as prominently a role. with all Sydney midfield (and SCG minefield) depth gonna be remarkable if we it off. its not like we're collingwood and just blood a couple of young guns who can play as mids all game "at the level"

lose this and we could be as low as 10th on the ladder.

Win this and we could be as high as 2nd!
(Most likely equal 3rd, given most of the teams above us play three of the four bottom teams (while we play against the top team for the third time in the past month).

Even if lose, we can go straight back into the 8 next week by beating the Suns at home.

It's a marathon, not a sprint.
