So what?

Why does our cub's response have to make those morons happy?

Nice cheap shot from Ch 10 too mentioning Levi trained along while he recovers from an accident in which the other driver was killed

They will also miss their match payments from the NAB Cup, which if we play a couple of rounds will be a fair sum on top of the existing fines.

This episode is not just about punishing, it's about education and culture change. Handing out huge penalties doesn't bring about incentive for culture change, it's what happens afterwards that will determine improvement.

If penalties are over-the-top, it will foster resentment within the playing group and no improvement will come about.

I agree, penalties seem about right to me. Walker might have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but it was his choice to be there.

Absolutely over the top from all corners, these cruises happen hundreds of times a year, and they regularly get much worse. I can recall one that a mate attended: a man was kicked off after bottling another man, narrowly missing his eye and cutting a deep wound just above his eyelid. Our blokes tied themselves to one another and egged each other on. That cruise kept running...

Feel free to quote this and feverishly comment until you have a stroke...

..Jimmae, bro'.. ..when you compare our behaviour, to the crap behaviour that others do, and say ours wasn't as bad as theirs.. ..it's a weak arguement.. ..we shouldn't be concerned about what other idiots get up to on the sauce..

Actually it's an indication of the bias shown in these circumstances. Booze cruises regularly get out of control, and so far we haven't heard about fights, violence, damage... just intoxication. Storm in a teacup.

All will be back for round 1. No doubt in my mind.

NAB FFS. Unless they have genuine matches (and payments) taken from them, expect nothing to change. I knew they were waiting for Jan 4th to come along in the hope that things would blow over by then, this just confirms it.

How about you save your outrage until they get picked in Rnd 1.

..the incident itself sure, but it's symptomatic of the problem we have.... ..sayin' that there weren't any brawls or anything criminally serious, so everything's ok [not exactly what you are saying] isn't helping the issue.. ..basically, it's like sayin' it's alright if they get sloshed, undo some good pre-season training, act unprofessionally, so long as nobody gets knocked out etc etc will keep us mired in the middle rungs..

A point yet to be discussed. Does anyone know the reaction of the rest of the playing group to the suspensions?

How about those players who do not drink, or only moderately. What do they think of the whole sorry saga?

This must be destroying team morale just when a young group should be bonding for years of on field combat.

And what was Betts locked up for. The same reason the rest of his team mates were in trouble for....being drunk. What would you have liked don e for such a "major" earth-shattering crime?

There's drunk and aggressive (see Brendan Fevola), drunk and amiable, drunk like a St Kilda player,..

Lots of ways of being drunk.

I'm not interested in the gory details. It's done.

They got suspended... I'm just adverse to treating it like they committed treason. They made a mistake, they were punished, they will be monitored on-going.

If they're really that thick, tell them to google 'Brendan Fevola' on their iPhone for a refresher.

..the suspension is enough, provided the problem gets dealt with [unprofessional attitudes].. ..though if the suspension is mostly for nab games, it's watered down too much..

Certainly not a good time for Andrew. His 38 year old uncle died last week of meningiacocal (can't spell it but you get the message).
So let's ease off . I think the young man is going through enough. Ok?

The incident with Casboult is what upset me the most..and what of it?
This just doesn't smell right. it's not the cool fresh change I'd hoped for..I needed a real statement of change...Judd's is almost it...but really..I'd rather have heard from the players involved..or a heartfelt statment of radical change..it just doesn't feel good to me..I fear what BKB says is true..no matter where we finish..something is rotten in PP.
What was th point of losing Fev if we don't really stand up and get a decent underlying creed?
