With the real improvement of Russell, Armfield and especially Joseph, I reckon Browne has fallen a bit further back on the list. I'm curious what kind of long-term role they're grooming him for, since he didn't seem to play in defence all that much at VFL level.

What I did like him about him during the VFL final series was some real aerial courage. It was something I hadn't really seen a lot of before from him. In fact he reminded me a little bit of Bartel. Here's hoping he can become half as good!

I am prepared to take the criticism that comes with this but i am usually very supportive of all Carlton Players but i am very comfortable to say that Steven Browne is OVERATED.

It is as simple as that. People talk him up constantly but i am yet to see it. His disposal is disgusting and has fallen way behind Armfield and Russell.

Time will tell Rucci... FWIW I think you're wrong. I'm sure you'll be more than happy for him to prove you wrong.

Along with Grigg, the most disappointing of the young crop in 09. Looked a great player in his first year, but just couldn't get going last season. Armfield Walker Joseph Russell Scotland ahead of him in the small/medium backs, and competing with Johnson and Anderson at the back of the field.

Still, I like him and if he does the right things and stays fit he should come on very quickly. Has serious AFL potential.

Any update on Browne's contract????

I really rate the kid and would hate for us to lose him... Yes, he had the second year blues but he has shown enough that he can be a very good player for the CFC

Browney got a three year contract when he signed in 2007, if he can remain injury free and have a big pre-season unlike 2009 he will have a huge year in 2010. The kids got talent
