The Carlton football club is like the hotel California .... if u get picked u can check in anytime you like ... but u can never leave!

Would be very interested to know when was the last time we let an interstate kid go back, who we knew was talented and still had use for :?:

Just has not happenned IMO

So to all u nervous nellies out there ... chill ... leave the kid alone or support him in his time of need and let history be ur guide.

Chris aint going anywhere not unless we want him to leave.

We are Carlton, people want to join us not leave us!

Remember people the swagger is back where it belongs!

all I know is that people have tried in the past to pry our CFC addicted players from us but have always failed.

We are the ones who always get the Williamses, the Judds and the Barrassies of the world when they want a new, shinier (AKA premierships in the cabinet!) home.

We may have made the off gaffe by letting go a player before he thrived but it had always been our choice.

Just imagine being a young talented kid in the rooms of the mighty blues and breathing in all that golden tradition. In the end CFC is more than a football club ... it is the Manchester United of the AFL.

Any kid who wants to go sooky la la and leave needs to have his head examined.

Just does not happen ... no one is that crazy!

Look at it this way ... you play your career at Carlton and you are almost guaranteed of a premiership (especially now after all those years of darkness). What sort of Dodo would want to leave that chance?

There's a reason Dodos are extinct.

Yazzzzzzzlllleeeeet is staying ... we want him.

Yarren will be a gun in 4-5 years which is too late. I've posted about this before so all I'm saying is we will regret this one for ages. Rich would have been perfect for our 3-4 year premiership window.

3-4 is rubbish

The window will open in 2011/12

and it stays open for as long as you can work around core of very important players.

For us that'd be Murph, Kruise, Gibbs, Bower and Hammer (maybe Warnock, Maybe Yarran , JR, AJ etc)

A flag within 3 and Judd, Fev, T-Bird come in to play but I'd suggest its very early and not the end of the opportunity if it does not come then.

So wait...our 3-4 year premiership window will be closed in 4-5 years?

You mean to tell me that when Gibbs and Kreuzer are about 24, Murphy 26, Walker 27, Judd 30, and Yarran is 22, our premiership window will have closed? If we continue to support these players with good coaches and good young players, (such as Austin, Hampson, Grigg, etc, who will all be about 25), we should keep it open as long as everyone is playing to the best of their ability and the club is stable.

Rashi,

if you're going to give your opinion on Yarran can you at least spell his name right?

I'll maintain (controversially) that Rich doesn't fit our list anywhere near as well as Yarran.

I reckon anyone that thinks Rich is a better fit for our team will be eating thier words come Saturday .... and will have left TC as a poster by the end of next year as a form of self exile for embarrassing themselves by even making the suggestion.

But as always only time will tell.

Hopefully it comes early like Saturday 4.11, 4.12 and 4.13!

That was always true until Aaron Hamill left.

At the time I satisfied myself with the thought that at least that shows we are not going to flaunt the salary cap any more.
Famous last words.

The turd suffered a debilitating knee injury, eventually ended up NOT playing 100 games for either club - so doesnt get his name on a locker - his fertilized turd progeny will never have the honour of father/son selection, and never played in a Premiership Side.

And he got screwed by a his partner who makes Caster Semenya look like Miss Universe.
