Dogs draw: Lions, Cats, Coll

Lions draw: Bulldogs, Port, Swans

Win our last 3 and we would be a great chance for top 4.

After friday night... anything is possible

I'd have been more comfortable if the Lions hadn't been gifted 2 points last night. But it is looking possible.

I'd take a look at the flag odds - its worth a punt.
knowning thgat once you are in the finals - anything can happen
especially when things are starting to run Carlton's way.

No war yet - but there will be.
the 17th will come early with Ratten or else early wth the next coach.

The Geelong match was a very important indicator of the worldline that we might be on.

The things I talk about are things that no one expects to happen.

In 2001, I 'saw' a future St Kilda Carlton GF - with Carlton winning by 10 points
The win was a particularly audacious one from a low spot in the final 8
Carlton had a new young coach and the flag was won early in his career.
no one thought we would win - and there was a lot of anger
but this was really caused by jealousy
they said that we didnt deserve to win - but we won fair and square
There was a player that kicked a goal in an attack from from the backline
I heard that his name was 'Power'
It wasnt the only flag that we won under this coach.
It occurred diring what I saw as a time of war - but it is also possible that it occurred at a time that preceded a war...

Are you saying we could do a Bradbury?

Perhaps war translates to Warnock (not there yet but will/could be)
Power could be Bower

Geeeeez next week's draw (besides our own) looks GREAT for us!!!

Hawks v Crows
Lions v Dogs
Swans v Cats
Bombers v Saints

There will be a lot of teams beating each other up for finals spots next week!!!!!

We just need to go over to Port and put them in their place...... our draw is really starting to look good
Will be VERY interested to see how Port go over against Freo

Ray Bradbury is on right the money with his understanding of the worldline concept.

There are many different paths - but we are on one of them - the trick is to determine ahead of time which one it actually is.

In Carlton's case the most important worldline is the one in which there is a premiership.

We need to know whether we are on this worldine - or it is a similar one - that differs in that there is no cup for the blues.

Maybe I am confusing War with Warnock.

Obviously, I do think that Power is actually Bower

These predictions were made while these players were in the under14s and unknown as Carlton players - even to themselves.

They were first made in 2001 - a year before our collapse.

In the next few weeks, the signs that we are indeed on the worldline of the 17th flag - will be a number of small but lucky events and outcomes that favour our club.

The flag season future that I saw was one where a series of small but important lucky breaks played a bigger role than normal in getting us to the point of chamagne spraying glory.

Little things like whether the winners in next weeks round of matches configure the ladder to our advantage - over and above our own efforts against the power.

Ive got a hunch - and it isnt Quasimodo's -I will be having a bet in a Carlton 2009 flag - earlier rather than later.

Why have you waited blueman?

The $100 i put on us before the Nth Melb game (when our odds were 61-1) just might give me a big hug on return.

There's a real spirit of 99 in this season.......Ratts would be all over it!

I never bet as a rule - its the protestant anti gambling upbringing

but my wife is a catholic - so that makes me half a mick too.

They dont mind as much.

You are quite right - I get a big vibe that it is looking like a 99 prelim kind of year - but maybe with one step further in 09.

But theres a way to go yet.

Theres many a slip between the cup and the lip.

...or maybe it was a time after a war...

...knockers...

...breasts...

...yes that's got to be it!

It was a time of breasts and we won a flag!

Geez this predicting business isn't so hard after all!

Really looking forward to the time of breasts I must say...

Id say that we might have a bit of luck in the first week of the final;s too.

maybe we finish 6th.

Others here have the 99 prelim vibe - and so do I.

Go with you intuition.

We need to lose to Port this week in order to keep out Essendon* to a lesser degree, and the Hawks. If we win this week there's every chance we'll be playing Hawthorn in the first week. That gives zero advantage for us and only a 50/50 chance of victory.

I say we rest Judd, Fev, Murph and Jammo again.

If we lose both Port and Crows we'll likely play the Dogs @ the G. Then we could be looking at a Carl V Coll MCG game the following week.

We need to focus on ourselves and not the other teams around us. We need to keep winning. We don't need to flirt with our form and confidence just when we are getting things together. If we keep winning and other results fall our way who knows maybe we could end up in fourth (double chance and a minimum of 2 Melbourne based finals). Think positive, think big!!!!
And if you are thinking about other teams and the eight, throw the Swans into your calculations.

Are you serious? We need to get some momentum into the finals. 3 wins by 30-40 points would be nice but this is Carlton and we can collapse pretty quickly.

We need to win all games and hope Dogs lose a couple and Brissy lose one and we play Saints in the first final. Smash them and ......( I will stop now  ).
