It seems as though a few posters either didn't see the game last night or saw it through the bottom of a stubby.

P.S....... We won!......4 points to us!....and we'll take them!

After we've finished here, the next agenda is to start a Sack Ratten petition.

The petition will have a rider in small print at the bottom.

The small print will state that Ratten's replacement must have some decent 25 year old players who can kick and chase, a Nick Riewoldt and a Lindsay Gilbee on his CV if he wants the job.

The young players will improve with time to make the new coach look like a better developer of young boys than Michael Jackson. *cough* Nathan Buckley

IMO was our cleanest player Friday night. Might not have had many touches, but had a large influence with his delivery by foot.

Gibbs turned the ball over at least twice in the first quarter, one of them was a terrible decision (handball to Judd). Murphy dropped his first handball receive under little pressure and dished off the handball to a hot Army which cost us a goal. These are the mistakes from numbers 3 and 4 in just the first quarter. Both were awful by foot last week, especially Murphy.

The way some people think, it's like the Russells of this team are constantly making errors and the Gibbs' and Murphys never do! Take a closer look and you'll see all players make these errors and it's ridiculous to let one or two mistakes from a lesser player influence your thoughts on him.

keep watching the tape ... 3 and 4 play some pearlers ... also take a look at Murphys 1-2 ... gives the ball off diagnolly then runs to receive again and runs in for a goal ... first class football ... name me the piece of play JR did to influence the game ?

For those that didn't see it (and those who are interested!), JR did fine in his first appearance on the Footy Show this morning. In fact, of our younger players, I'd say he's one of the better media performers based on this morning. Kept his answers short and to the point and in the spirit of the show. Well done JR!

First piece of play I saw from our Captain - a pretty handy player if you believe the press - slick handball, straight to a North player.

Some people like amplifying JR's errors, and play down his positives. His delivery on Friday night was clean and efficient. A mark which should have been awarded, or free kick awarded for chopping - so blatant even the commentators said it was that obvious - as one example is probably seen as his fault that the Kangaroos scored as a result of umpire incompetence.

Let me put it this way: JR plays way better than most people here post.

As you are quoting me where I have knocked JR ? I joined this topic to respond to another post about JR's influence on the game. His disposal did not influence this game ... the disposal from Murphy and Gibbs (and also Stevens) is what influenced this game. If people are going to post through rose coloured glasses then they can expect a response to the contrary.

Also you can never compare the pressure situations the likes of Murphy, Gibbs and Judd find themselves in compared to say a Jordan Russell. The latter doesn't enter the pressure cooker like those three.

Absolutely spot on Dadadada. Judd gibbs and murphy are the hunted and russell......... well, lets just say i don't think the opposition pay him too much attention in their pre-game planning.

I included your quote as it was in a rebuttal of Hellas' post.

Murph Judd and Gibbs aren't always in "pressure" situations. JR isn't always playing uncontested footy.

Many players made mistakes on Friday night. Including the Fabled 3.

Of all our 22, JR was well inside our top 10, IMO. He's never going to be a Judd, or attract the same attention, but he attracts a disproportional amount of criticism.

you must not watch footy closely with a post like that. I will repeat a part of my post ... "Also you can never compare the pressure situations the likes of Murphy, Gibbs and Judd find themselves in compared to say a Jordan Russell "

You haven't seen Judd, Gibbs and Murphy almost strangled at most stoppages ... the player on Judd the other night took tagging to a new level ... he was a blight on the game. Judd, Gibbs and Murphy have to play inside and outside ... Murphy in fact has been getting worked over by the opposition from his first game. JR does not get this type of respect from the opposition ... in fact most of his possessions (and they are not many by the way) have him facing his target which is alot different to the starting point Judd, Gibbs and Murphy find themsleves in. No comparison :donk:
