maybe at melbourne he was an elite kick...
... maybe when he came to the ratten school of coaching and development he lost it???
who knows????
hard to see either way....
though i do know ratts chased him for it....
... as he chased hadley for some on field hardness and leadership too....
they must have had something before they came....
but they are at a club that has not been taught any subtleties about footy....
..tend to watch alot of the Dee's [best mate lifelong member], and his kicking can be exceptional.. ..in time and space, otherwise he's just like any other kick when under pressure, or he's not given much room to work in/with.. ..what i will say though, is the kicking out isn't usually his fault.. ..sure, he's the kicker.. ..but when he's not close to the goal-square, and has to jog there cos another player declined to kick out, you've got the ref calling time on almost straight away, and upfield there's no plan for him to spot up a free player to kick out to.. ..it's always gonna be an iffy kick-out from that situation..
..as for Hadley, i've always been a fan but if yer chasing a player that has mostly proven not to be able to physically withstand the battering of AFL footy, i'm not sure what hardness/leadership you'll get from a guy more often than not, not playing [or not up to playing seniors].. ..would have loved for Hads to succeed with us, but he's not fit enough, or for long enough periods of time and every time he tries to get back onto the ground after another setback, he seems that little bit more off the pace..
