tried him up forward, tried him down back....maybe it was the injuries but....facts are facts.

You can't just throw him in here and there and think its all going to work.

For example, Jesse White new the exacts spots to lead to. He understood his role, is being groomed for this and is not a spare parts man.

um, you do know Jesse White was recruited as a back up ruckmen rather than a key forward right?

they are using him in this role becuase of hall's retirement.

Was recruited as a backup ruckman but has been developed and turned into a forward. He plays as a forward in the two's

come on melvey...

I am all for critically evaluating the footy club and its head coach (see previous posts)....but surely he cannot be blamed for everything !

harts was a draft pick who for one reason or another hasn't developed into an AFL standard football player as hoped.

it is disappointing but surely ratts can't be wholly blamed for that !

Harts was not recruited as a back up ruckman....

If you saw him in the U18 Champs, he played back. So please state facts in arguments. He may just simply not be good enough. No-ones fault here, has been tried in many positions and has not come on.

..i would keep AJ in, Dildak seems to not respond favourably to the kind of treatment he'd recieve from AJ.. ..it will be a diff team than we encountered previously this year, but we accounted for them both times last year when they were playing better footy.. ..we just seem to match up v.well against them, and their game style.. .3 wins in a row, and the last few wins vs the pies will give us a real belief we can beat them..

:garthp: do we have any quotes from ratten anywhere to suggest that Stevens will be coming in? Or is it just the mail from Melvin?

This might give us some indication from Icke

and it doesn't look good for Stevens

http://sportal.com.au/afl-news-display/ ... away-74310

On 206

Giant Carlton ruckman Robbie Warnock will play his first game of the season this weekend when he runs out for the Blues' VFL affiliate, the North Bullants.

ON Stevens

Struggling midfielder Nick Stevens doesn't appear any closer to a senior recall after having just 12 touches and eight tackles for the Bullants on Sunday.

While Stevens has publicly been criticised for being over-weight, the Blues are more concerned about him lifting his work-rate.

Icke suggested Stevens would have at least another week in the VFL and miss Friday night's blockbuster against Collingwood at the MCG.

"There were signs he was getting back to the Nick Stevens of old," he said.

On Walker

Walker is one of Carlton's fittest players but Icke said he still needed to get some 'mileage' in legs before a senor recall was considered.

On JAMO and Irish

Forward Setanta O'hAilpin (general soreness) and defender Michael Jamison (groin) will be available for selection to take on the Pies who had their seven-game winning streak snapped by the Hawks.

Well thats good news they will both come in. I think Bentley has to come out. He wasn't too bad on Saturday, but he didn't do anything all that great either and all though they play different positions, I think Setanta offers more.

In: Jamison, O'hAilpin

Out: Hartlett, Bentley

Agree with the first part, shake my head and laugh at the second.

Why is the second point laughable. Its easy to write shit like 'thats laughable' or use those stupid icons, back it up with a reason which helps strengthen your point.

Ellard is a very average athlete in comparison to Joseph or Armfield.

Wow..it would be great if Setant and Jamo both come back in!
What I cannot understand is how we can possibly be odds at $1.90,and Pies $1.80...any clues????? :screwy:
All you hear is how we are not coming, and will barely...maybe scrape in to the 8..so what the?????

Setanta won't play this week
AJ to Davis
Carrots to Swan
Houla to Shaw
JR to Maxwell
Joey to Thomas

I agree with you Pklz but cant forget how damaging swan can be but he's difficult to put a hard tag on as he is benched so much.
