Can't imagine what it will feel like if we lose .

In , Thornton . . . . . out , probably Austin .

Austin didn't play against the Saints.

5 kicks 9 handballs 4 marks....You really don't watch the game do you Melvey...I suppose thats the explanation for why you think Chris Johnson is a gun - makes sense now...

By the way, anyone else on this site there when the Blues last beat the Bombers in a GF (1968)?

Unfortunately, I also witnessed our loss to them in 1962.

I certainly was. On the front page of the Sun after I managed to jump the fence and found myself in the background as Nick lifted the trophy.

Didn't make the '62 GF but was there the week before for the infamous Peter Barry/ Doug Wade incident.

In Thornton,out Austin?
That sounds ok...I think Austin has been great...but I'd rather keep Bannister inif we had to choose...He was tough & looked like he belonged in the team.

Richardson also said on Thursday morning that Brent Prismal, who has played two senior games since recovering from a knee reconstruction, has been nursed through training this week but should be right to play.

Reports have suggested he has sore ribs...hopefully his opponent niggles him at every opportunity.

Was there for both of them kkk. The draw & replay in the 1962 prelim handed the scum the flag on a platter.

I also loved Cliff Stewart

MEDIA RELEASE

MELBOURNE CRICKET CLUB

June 25, 2009

The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) advises that a limited amount of public seating remains for Friday night’s Essendon* v Carlton match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Public patrons without a reserved seat to the match are advised that the only general admission seating still available is on the top level of the Ponsford Stand. Any remaining unsold seats will be available on a walk-up basis when Gate 1 opens at 5.30pm tomorrow night.

It is recommended that patrons avoid the potential queues at the ground and pre-purchase their ticket requirements through Ticketek as soon as possible via www.ticketek.com.au, phone 132 849 or at Ticketek agencies. As this is a reciprocal match, members of the away team (Carlton) are able to purchase reserved seats at the member upgrade price.

Reserved seats are still available for AFL members, while a limited number of MCC visitor tickets are also on sale.

The MCC also advises those attending the MCG tomorrow night to allow plenty of time to arrive at the stadium and to take public transport where possible.

The match, which commences at 7.40pm, is expected to attract an attendance of 75,000-80,000.

Public and AFL gates will open at 5.30pm and the MCC Members Reserve will open at 5.00pm.

You would hope so. People were complaining at the lack of forwards leading into the St Kilda game, wasn't expecting another to be omitted.

Glad that McPhee is missing as well as McVeigh!!

Thornton back in is a boost.

I like Garlett however he only got 4 poss's against the Saints and went missing last time we played Essendon*. Next year and beyond he should be a regular.
