Anderson is a very handy tagger we have in the stable.

Ando can also attack offensively too.

May Ando can be handy against the Saints...can release Army to defend further upfield. Army can't help attacking the lines.

really hope that he never plays another game

Also can't wait to see what is done with AJ, so many options

Cloke and Wiggins and similar types are old news...their role now is to help bring through our younger guys in the twos.

Does anyone have some ideas about escaping from full on pressure?
What can we change now that we didn't do against the Swans?

Kick straight.

Also we could have played more direct in adverse conditions, but this won't be a factor at Etihad.

Anyone else reckon we struggle when it's raining/windy/dewy?

Waite out really hurts. He's had it over Riewoldt for years.
Bower and must go to Riewoldt with Bower's form on Franklin recently.
Setanta to Kosi and Thornton helpping out whichever of them is closer to goal.

Gram killed us last time and I wouldnt mind seeing Garlett play a defensive forward roll if they keep him in the side.
Wouldnt mind Setanta on Milne just to kill the little shit! Nah.. Armmy on Milne
Joseph on Hayes. Hes easily their number 1 mid.
Carazzo to Montagna.
Houlihan must go forward for us to kick a score.

+1

No point unless we have no other options, same goes for Wiggins, Bannister et al., they are not the future.

Im looking forward to this game as it will tell us where we are really at, I just hope we dont get absolutely belted again. Would love to see Bower on Riewoldt also.

This seems like a great fit.
Ball and Murphy?
What about Judd and Hayes?
Thanks for the tip about kicking straight(lol)
I hope you are right and it was just the showground that was the problem with Sydney.

Why would you put Carazzo on Montagna?

Montagna's greatest weapon is his pace and ability to break lines, while Carazzo lacks a yard or two of pace.

From memory didnt Riewoldt torch Waite last time, requiring us to move Jamison on to him? Jamison is great on the long lead forwards, and has those long arms for spoliing. As we've seen recently however he's not as good in the strength competitions and gets done for the occasional Gayfer free. I think Bower isnt strong enough for either Kosi or Riewoldt and would commit Thornton to one of them as a hard defender rather than loose for the second week in a row.

I like BV's call of playing him as a defensive forward on Fisher if that pans out too, but am wary of us being undersized in defence. Whilst the MC persists in Setanta outside of defence we're left with Jamison on Riewoldt and someone else on Kosi, each time giving up abit of strength.

In the end if they get lots of ball they'll kick lots of goals and we'll lose.

We will have to win this game from the middle.

Yeah, Reiwoldt completely pantsed Waite. I remember as I was sitting right behind them in the stands and Waite had nil effect on Reiwoldt's leads and was always left behind. Jamo would be a better option for sure.

Someone really needs to negate that little turd Milne and that Schneider clown as they both tend to have blinders against us.

I would have Joseph on Montagna, Armfield on Shneider and Carrot on Milne. Important to have someone who can hold their tackles against Milne.

Gibbs V Goddard? or Grigg V Goddard?

Milne has a knee niggle according to the H/S - whether he misses is TBC

There ability to limit the ball go inside 50 is incredible - They limited North to 29 last week and their season average against them is 38.8 . That matches with our season low of 39 against the Crows- We have been going inside 50 on average 50.8 times a game the most the saints have conceded this year is 46 against Collingwood and the Doggies and 45 against the Bombers .

If we can keep with our season average of 50.8 we be a fair chance

Only if we convert at least 35% of those entries into goals........

Hopefully the MC dont get sucked in by the "bigger bodies" theory that cost us in the past.
Pick players on form.
I'm not interested in picking Bentley just because the Saints have big players around the ball.

Exploit their weaknesses instead of trying to match their strengths.

Bentley was mentioned as being back on the rookie list with Benticks return from the LTI list. Said there is a spot though with Waiteys LTI.

Ratts gave Hartlett and Yarran a good mention as being in the mix with Hadley.
No mention of Joey. :?
