It would be a nice tribute for TC to go "silent" for 10min or half an hour at the same time. Not sure how it would work though

Its very sad - I had hopes that he would have been able to battle on to see Carlton at the end of the 2009 season.

I do feel so very sorry too for his family's loss...because Richard Pratt was an exemplary man.

Dont let the business troubles that he experienced detract from this for even one second.

While he has now peacefully passed to the other side, I honestly think that his spirit is still here, but free of the suffering of being in a failing body.

When I consider the person of Richard Mr Pratt I sense that in some ways it is like he hasnt actually gone - but instead, he has moved on to a different place.

- although this may seem to some like a contradiction in terms it is not..

He is at rest but is now a presence with a truly wonderful aura.

Dick Pratt loved Carlton in life and I think that he still does even now.

Naming things in his honour would be the very least that Carlton could do.

His memory and his legacy will last a very long time indeed.

I think it would be great for the Pratt family to get a copy of our comments, I'm sure they know how we all feel but there are many nice sentiments posted and I hope they know how much we are greatful for his leadership.

Maybe the comments can be copied to a letter format and passed on to the family.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. My condolences to all his family. I think that the Politics forum is essential reading just to signify the effect that Pratt coming on board had after a hugely devisive election. He then got the best people to run the club onboard and had a huge part to play in getting the current club captain here. Your contribution will never be forgotten

Typically generous & well considered philanthropist to the very end. Peter Mac not only dedicated to diagnosing & treating patients with all types of cancers (ie, not just prostate) but also the largest cancer research facility in Australia focused on finding cures to these various cancers.

Words cannot describe what the CFC means to me.... and Mr Pratt was the Saviour that delivered our Club from it's darkest days.

The Carlton community owes everything to you Sir. It is a privelege and honour to count you as one of us. Thank you for all you have done.

You cannot get more Carlton than Richard Pratt!

RIP

The new Northern Territory Team - NT Thunder who play in the QAFL will wear black arm bands this Saturday in their game against the Redland Bombers in honour of Richard Pratt.

“Richard Pratt, through the Pratt Foundation were instrumental in getting the NT Thunder concept off the ground and it is only fitting that we recognise his contribution to the establishment of the Club in this way” said NT Thunder CEO Stuart Totham."

I too would like to thank Mr. Pratt for generosity to the Carlton Football Club. Although, more importantly to me, is his legacy that is his push for a better and more efficient water policy, recycling, and environmentally sustainable business ventures.

Thank you Mr. Pratt for bringing these issues out of the darkness and into the light where they can no longer be ignored.

Thank you once again, and may you rest in peace knowing you have done Carlton, Australia, and the world a huge favour!

This news came through while I was away on holidays. I still haven't seen the Bulldogs game yet, but it will hold extra significance when I do sit down to watch.

Everything that needs to be said about Richard Pratt has been said, so I'll simply say thank you and may you rest in peace.

But if there's an article about it, even a school newsletter, wouldn't that "un" the "unsung"?

That's a shame, I can't go either, but mostly because I'm not in Melbourne.
