thanks for this RR .. I'll be updating my Bible and stats sheets with these!!

Oh, and holder-of-the-Bible .. could we possibly have an updated version, and perhaps an explanation of the different colours (OK wrong forum but you never know)

Not sure how much Stephen looks at this site p(12) but I'll be catching up with him at the B&F on Friday and will ask for you. Should really be an annual update to the site, eh?

I think there is also another spreadsheet somewhere tracking nicknames of past players. Some of the Blueseum guys are trying to find the best way to publish these - either through an article or some other interactive addition to the site.

Thanks, mate

I reckon the spread-sheet is the way to go .. just overwrite the old one with the new ..

I already have Kreuzer on mine! I just didn't know what the
a
b
c
meant at the end (next to the unblooded rookies)

Does anyone know why Andrew McKay was called "Tanman"? :?

Ah, actually, Bookie got there first.

As you'd know if you had to read out loud like I do.

I always call Matty Llyod "Knob Head".

Does that count?

I always liked that DAAS joke:-
"We knew a kid in school called Mike Hunt...............we nicknamed him "Shithead"

Ahhhhhhhhh.

Only guessing, but McKay was one of the whitest people you would ever see. Maybe it was a play on that.

When he won the best and fairest it was the first time the award was decided on skin colour. :P

Mark Austins nickname from his junior/Glenelg days was "Striker"
Bryce Gibbs was "Gibblet" as in the young Gibbs being son of Ross, who is the original Gibbsy.
We also used to call him SOC . Son of Cool, as Ross Gibbs was "Mr Cool".

I'm not too sure where this nickname came from, but I use it on a weekly basis...

Michael "Blanket" Jamison.

From memory it was either given to him by Fev, or I heard about it through my brother... story goes that he is like a blanket around the forward player that he is playing on at the time (in other words, harsassing him and not letting him get too far away).

So if you are ever at the football and happen to hear "go Blanket!" or "well done blanket" it may end up being me!

I went to a couple of training sessions last year, and the lads tended to refer to each other by their first names on the field. I dunno if anyone else has noticed that. When they kept yelling to each other it took me a while to figure out who they were referring to.
