I think Melvey is sayind we should never had recruited Judd. He is saying that teams that didnt get him are going to be better than us.

Id' hate to think where we'd be without Judd.

As super young side filled with talent for the next 10 years.

Should not have traded for Judd. Should have traded away Fev and Thornton. 5 extra talented kids on the list for the future. Time will tell

Mentally we are on the ropes........

Waites gone down, poor team performances, 5 losses from the past 7, the weight of expectation, inflated egos, no belief and most of all not confidence in the coach.

They would love to land the knock out blow. We have Judd and traveling just as good as them

Yeah with those kids having Nick Stevens as a role model to look forward to.

The kids getting belted every week and eventually wanting out of the club.

The kids without any idea of what success is and what is required to get there.

You can't have a bunch of 18 year olds running around the AFL.

And its not like Judd was a washed up 30 year old, he was 25 when we recruited him. He'll be around for a while provided we don't run him into the ground (like the coaching staff is currently doing).

If you doubt the Judd recruitment you have got no idea.

With Bannister? We already have Joseph and Jamison playing full negating roles, not sure we can afford another.

I'd look at Bannister to come in and play CHF..... a leading option... the spot his dad always wanted him to play

He's a better player than Wiggins - who is just shit now after a good year last year - and also better than Fisher or Cloke or whoever else would come in to play up forward.

I'd also bring Setanta in to play a bit up forward and provide some run in the ruck to let KROOZ and Hampson to play forward more. Having 3 mobile rucks in the team would give us a bit more flexibility and Setanta can basically warm Warnock's spot and let Ratten get used to coaching with all 3 in the team (because they should all be in the team)

OUT: Waite (inj), Hadley (forever), Russell (forever), Wiggins (forever)
IN: Grigg, Bannister, O'hAilpin, Scotland

I wouldn't drop Armfield....... though I think Anderson and Ellard would be in close contention. If either Grigg or Scotland need another week those 2 would be in for mine.

We were shit, basically. Horribly horribly bali-belly shit.

They would almost be tempted to pick Hartlett and try and get him free in defence to use his kicking

It looked like Yarran was playing in defence in the second half... thought that was a good move and worth persisting with. He delivered by foot well in a couple of instances. Suggest they do this next week.... good for this development to run him into games.

I think Thornton will have to cover Waite's role as a loose defender, with Jamo, Austin and Bower to take the weagles key forwards. each can play small or tall so that works well with the Eagles forward structure full of small-talls.

Ratten basically has to wake up and get serious. The Russells and Wiggins of the team have got to go... they're just toilets and always will be.

If Russell is picked for this game then I'll RETIRE

I know Russell is preferred by the match committee and is about as likely to get dropped as Judd is, so I won't even suggest dropping Russell.

I think the MC may have the courage to drop wiggo (100% great bloke and gives 110% so full marks on that count) so assuming they do that there are two outs.

Outs: Waite and Wiggo

In: anyone from Sentanta (due to him being able to fill various roles and attacks the blooody ball), Grigg (has speed and runs the lines), Scotland or Garlett.

Sentanta offers more options than Fisher in my view... but I am guessing the match committee will go with Fisher.

In Anderson out Russell
In Grigg out Hadley
InOhailpin out Wiggins
In Scotland out Thornton
InEllard out Waite

Play Gibbs on Embley
Joseph in the guts

Time to give oHailpin a role in defence and just have him play there
Anderson to take Russels place no brainer
Ellard would like to see him given a role in the midfield rotation. better than paddles
Armfield in the guts
may add some needed grunt
Grigg to play down back
Play Hampson for longer periods
Rotate with Kreuzer at CHF not to go pass the centreline
Play Murphy more up forward

Please dont play Houlihan

Generally agree Keogh except for a few points.
Joey has to play.
Don't see the point in bringing Setanta. Simply not good enough and he have enough tall defenders who cannot dispose of the ball properly.
Kruezer needs to plany himself at FF. He can lead and he can also mark in a pack and if he doesn't the ball will come to ground. His defensive pressure is also very good.
I would play Thornton at CHF. The position suits him and we need it filled.
The scary thing is they will pick Fisher this week and we will be even slowly and more predicable down forward.
I would also play Garlett. Deserves his go.
Joseph on the ball
Unfortunately these things probably won't happen.

Out's:-

Waite (inj), Hadley (crap), Russell ( :banghead: ), Wiggens.

Ins:-

O'Halphin (shouldn't have been dropped in the first @#$%&! place),
Grigg (I'm singing the 'Welcome Back' theme song from Welcome Back Cotter),
Anderson (has had a few good games so deserves a spot),
Fisher (on his last chance)

Houlihan needs to lift - but would be a welcomed return. He's probably as pissed off as i am thinking "How the hell do i get dropped while inept and sub-standard no-hopers like Hadley & Russell continually get rewarded?

If we win this game by 100 points, i still wont be impressed. Not unless we change our attitude and lift our God Damn Intesnsity. Get rid of the arogence. You can have it back when you can warrant it with good football. None of this flooding defensive 'along the wing' crap.

Is there a "Coaching for Dummies" book - cause it'd be PERFECT for Ratts.

Get Back To Basics! - it doesn't need to be this difficult.

Anybody seen 'Any Given Sunday'? There's a great line in it from the Defensive Coach when talking about the plays. He says.................... "We made this Shit real @#$%&! simple"

I just feel sorry for SydneyBlue and his merry (should that be grizzly) band of anti-Santies. Every time he thinks he can announce Santy's demise and he can boast that the MC's opinion validates his own, back Santy comes into contention as the MC's previous decision-making is doubted. Poor old SB is left saying something like, "Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?"

SB, you can't leave it to others. Gather up some holy water, garlic cloves, crucifix, torch, pitchfork, wooden stake and mallet and do the job yourself. Otherwise you just know he'll keep on haunting your dreams

Yes Mav he would have made a world of difference yesterday - maybe he could have picked up Knights

He still yet to be selected and listening to Ratts yesterday he is trying to get games into players of the future - so I doubt he will get back in next week either

Scotland for Russell - no brainer

Setanta for Waite - Setanta and Hammer to bash in to Cox

Kruezer permanent CHF

Anderson in for Wiggins

Fish is not the answer, too slow when the ball hits the ground and not to mention his kicking.

Grigg is in our best 22 but he hasn't played much and will be hard to come up in 5 days.

Fev to lead out far and wide to take Glass out of the play and opening up the space behind him for mids and big kreuz to run into .

Doesnt sound too bad in theory. Just got to makes sure we are winning the ball around the packs.

In: O'Hailpin, Houlihan, Scotland, Grigg and Bannister

We desperately need body strength, so Bannister ahead of Fisher.

Out: Waite, Hadley, Russell, Wiggins, Armfield

Thats not a bad line up. Take fisher out of that forward line though. It is far to tall and lumbery. Put Robo or Yarran in his spot.

The key is having the right mindset. We need to show up and play hard from the start. Not just this week but every week.
Yesterday clearly we got monstered early. We have to make sure that does not happen again so any plan the boss implements is given a chance to work.

We will need a few big guys in backline this week to combat the tall eagles forward line. Bring Hartlett in, let him kick out - 75m down the guts.......
