Geez DB, usually the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, but your piece nearly lured a tear or two.

Great to see the boys respond to the Ghost's request last weekend.

This week is again for Richard our Lionheart. I'll wear a blackband on the night of the game.

Great piece of writing.

Here's cheers to Richard and your dad and your pop and the whole bluebagger family.

It's not a tear in my eye, I just must have dirt or something in it.

Well done Danny, that's what footy is all about.

This is my first post and I agree an excellent piece by "The ghost" For those of you who replied cynically, you have obviously not lost a dad or realise how important such memories are. Thank you Dick Pratt for keeping alive the club and such memories. - Woofa

Thank you Danny.

That was beautiful.

We all may have our differences but as long as we all follow the Navy Blue, we are always family.

Nice words there danny.

Sometimes, you can care so much it hurts.

I can't say I've ever gotten emotional over the death of someone I've never met. But I had a quiet little cry last night, because while I've never met Mr. Pratt, he's one of us. And so we mourn.

Not only that, but as you say - he helped us hold on to something that is so very dear to us.

So his actions, and his illness, and his departure... they're all very personal to me.

I really hope there's a heaven, and Dick can see the Premiership he helped create, from a really nice seat, with a glass of Grange. And I hope that when we belt out that song afterwards, over and over and over again, our voices reach all the way up there.

A beautiful piece, DB- thank you. It reminded too of my own father, who had only a passing interest but would follow the Pies just to  me....he knew how important CFC was to me and would insist on going to a game whenever we were in Melbourne (from Mildura). The :gift: Richard has bequeathed on to us is that he, among many others, recognised how important this club was to all of us and gave so lovingly and generously to ensure its longevity for this and future generations of fathers, mothers, sons and daughters of the CFC. :thanks:
