Wiggins took minutes to calm down on the bench, and it is understood at least part of his anger had been caused by Fevola not helping with the plan to negate the Swans' loose players.

Fev did look proppy, if he cant follow the plan and is pissing off team mates around him its time for a break

....hearsay journalism. Simon's too professional to be doing that on-field. You save outbursts for the locker room.

One did get the sense that this little excursion to Sydney was a bit of a junket

I wonder if he managed to get over the Star City

I dunno...

I've been critical of Fev in the past, but his endeavour on the weekend looked ok to me (admittedly I wasn't at the ground, so Sydney Blue's version of events is probably more accurate). Yeah there was the 100 metre penalty, but he looked genuinely confused by the first 50 (the second 50 was less understandable). I thought he moved up the ground well when we couldn't get it past half back so that he could provide another option, and he seemed to chase reasonably well. Of course it would have been good for him to kick straight - but that's hardly a discipline issue. So i am hoping this story is a typical HUN beat up.

Well there was that snap over his shoulder from the pocket that missed every thing when he had 3 players on the inside of him he could of dished off to for an easy goal .

First time I have ever seen Eddie give someone a gob full

I only got to the ground just before half time however the second half showed a forward missing bread and butter opportunitues at marking when well and truely in the box seat. Very dissappointed with his performance.

In my opinion.............. the WHOLE TEAM needs to lift! Not just Fev.

One man cannot be responsible for loosing, just as one man cannot be responisble for winning.

Johnson, Robbo, Thornton, - their turnovers cost us goals, multiple goals........and when you think that we only lost by 3-4 goals, well those turnovers are more than costly.

Ratten - he's gameplan was lackluster, sloppy, hardly creative and proof that he was simply at a loss to combat Sydney's counter-attack after we got off to a good start!

Missed shots - BY EVERYBODY cost us goals. You can't expect to win a game kicking 3 goals 9 behinds.

Decision making was awful, and i'm not sure if it's the players or the coach, but why would you continue to kick long along the wing when two players are screaming for it in the centre of the ground????????

FLOODING IN THE LAST QTR WHEN WE'RE 3 GOALS DOWN.............. ???? There is no resonable excuse for this? Somebody want to give me a valid reason as to why anybody would do this?

SURE - Fev had a shocker, and he'll lift this weekend................ But he can't be the only Fall-Guy for the piss-weak uninspiring performence this TEAM has delievered over the past 2 weeks,....... ALL ARE AT FAULT!

I'm sure IMO that it's no coincidence that just over 3 weeks ago; Fevola moved out of the family bayside home, and moved into an apartment in Southbank to share with a team mate.

It seems to me that Fev has generally looked unhappy since then....he does love Alex and the two little kids.

Fev had a off day, as did many others. Smell a beat up.

So you're saying that his split with Alex would have no effect on him?............

Didnt he make that move over the summer? It was reported about the time of Scotlands wedding.

I think we have seen in the past that his private issues have a big influence on his on and off field behaviour. I think Fev is quite an emotional person who needs harmony in his life to function at his optimum. Since he met Alex his ups and downs (on and off the field) have always coincided with how well their relationship was going. In this case I am not sure as we do not know how much the injury is affecting him.

I have no doubt it had effect on him, but as I said Fev was not the only one who had an off day, the published story though is trying to make something out of nothing, I suspect a number of players will have been told to 'lift' after that performance. Nothing unusual about that after a bad game.

He moved out lock stock and barrel no more than 3 weeks ago.

BRENDAN Fevola's workrate in Carlton's weekend loss to Sydney has annoyed some at the club, with the full-forward being told to sharpen up.

Quote:
Carlton football operations manager Steven Icke would not comment on the Fevola matter yesterday, saying the full-forward's workrate was not an issue

So who at Carlton has actually said "sharpen up" or something to that effect?

Spot on, the report clearly has no substance to it, the writer (Damien Barret) contradicts his own headline right there and fails to provide a quote to support his pathetic argument.

Fev needs to drop the weight he put on. I believe it is effecting his heel recovery & his ability to chase and tackle. The second half of the season will be tough with the extra weight. Drop the weight he will be fine

Barrett is a Carlton supporter so I'm sure he's got his info from a reliable source within the club.

Minor issue nonetheless.
