The HS is reporting a recon for Walker and non-surgical treatment for Jamison

I hope that the Jamison isn't a "patch job to get him back ASAP" approach, and he will be 100% when he returns !!!!!!!! I would rather he miss 8+ weeks this year and have it 100% for next year than miss 3 weeks, come back 80%, bugger it up again, need a full reco and miss 12 months ..............

I don't think a shoulder reco is a 12 mth thing anyway.....happy to stand corrected....so even if he does bugger it again soon, he'd be right for next year anyway. I'm probably wrong though!

i've read in a few articles it takes 12 weeks before you can resume training. with this in mind, i wou;d've thought it'd be best to give jamo the surgery now and have him ready for finals rather than risk him getting injured halfway through the season and then missing finals as well. i've got no idea about the injury, how serious it is and all the rest of it so i'm not going to act like i'm qualified to talk about it but IF the club's mindset is short-term then i think i have every right to disagree with that approach.

"after visiting his specialist today it was decided the club would take a conservative approach to manage the injury.

He had treatment today, will not have an operation and is expected to resume playing in two to three weeks."

I'm cynical about Jamison missing just three weeks after Walker's troubles.

If the club thinks they can manage it with physiotherapy, I'd rather the club operate and get Jamison right for the second half of 2009.

And beyond...

Once bitten, twice shy.

Walker can live without lifting one of his arms over the horizontal, so could Jamo at a pinch (still one arm to spoil).

We should have traded Walker for John McCain when we had the chance.

Surgery is always the last option... one wrong move and it can end a career, or worse.

Good news - Cheers Josh.
Regardless you can't help but feel that it is just a matter of time until Jamo's shoulder "pops" out again.
Hasn't he already had surgery in the pre-season?

Porplyzia had his shoulder popping out for most of last season. It was assessed that it wouldn't do any extra damage whether he played or not. Then he had the surgery at the end of the year and is fit again now. Any chance its a similar deal with Jamo??

That's exactly the route they took with Walker, that went well :?

Looks to be the same problem for Jammo as last year, popped out slightly a couple of times going for a defensive punch. You'd just about put your house on it happening again.

The surgeon doing these shoulder surgeries doesn't have a great strike rate at this point in time
