I was saddened to read if the passing of Peter McLean, a member of our '68 premeiership team.
Peter, a member of the Demons '64 flag side, was brought across to add stability to our back line by
Ron Barassi.
He served the Blues manfully and was rewarded with a place in our mighty '68 premiership team.

Peter also served the Blues off field and IIRC was Chairman of Selectors.
While admittedly from the outside looking in , Peter came across as a thorough gentleman.
Sad loss.

The 1968 Premiership team will have some parallels with Judd's first Carlton premiership team.

May Peter McLean rest in peace.

RESPECT.

Yes.....Peter had the unique distinction of being a reserve in the '64 Melbourne Flag side.....and also a reserve in our '68 Flag side..............R.I.P.

Was Jon Anderson's Trivia Question on 3AW this morning - yes vale Peter McLean - who I think is a great uncle of current Melbourne player Brock McLean.

The 1968 Premiership Side - sometimes does not get the credit it deserves - as it always pales in comparison to our 1970 triumph - but this was a gutsy side - only premiership side in history to have scored less goals than the losing side.

Actually I think Ricky McLean might be Brock's uncle.
Peter McLean was a solid half back. Think he cam on early in the third qtr in 68 replacing Kevin Hall. Not many players get to play in two flag sides, and certainly made a good contribution in 68
