Johnson- wouldn't drop him.

Even Wiggins (despite his wayward shooting for goal) was good.

I would like to see Grigg (when he is fit) in the team though...but can't see a spot for him yet.

I Agree i don't think Wiggins the future unless he plays well over 30 but his doing enough for now to hold back Fisher and a couple of guys.I hope Steven Browne becomes similiar but with better kicking with a lot of years on his side

Wiggins>>>>>>>>Fisher. They're as bad a kick for goal as each other (although Wiggins used to be ok didn't he?), Fisher's inabaility to run will hold him back now IMO. I said it last year, I reckon he'll be gone from the game in a couple of years.

Walker for Garlett AFAIC

+1, promising but not outstanding about right. Plenty of time for the young man and let's nurse him through this year as much as possible.

Yep, just the ONE change. Walker for Garlett.

Tex stiff to miss the other night as he's been dominant in Ants praccy matches and has worked very hard in the pre-season, including last weekend per RR. He's earned his spot based on form, not just reputation.

Playing against the bigger bodies of the Lions, it makes plenty of sense, too.

Don't look at his disposal tally, look at the roles he's performing for the team.

I think it is called clutching at straws

you could clearly see Joseph and Russell were given heavy tagging roles and the effect their opponents had were very minimal -

Luke Power and Simon Black are going to wearing second skins next week by the names of Joseph and Russell

With all due repect to both JR and AJ, if either of hose boys play on Simon Black, he will have a field day. Grigg to me would be our best option there. If he is fit, given his pre season, I would think he is a walk up start, I reckon Ratts would be of the same feeling. Grigg for either Garlett or AJ, probably AJ (neither of those boys did nothing wrong, but time is on their side).

Walker is going to have to wait his turn, let him play some consistent games in the Ants for month or so, let him prove his shoulder is good, until then,I dont think he is worth the risk. Has done nothing in his career up until now to warrant a walk up start.

Some of the rookies will need rests throughout the season and also it depends on matchup fits with the Brisbane Lions next week...but really although Stevens may be a walk up start...we should make guys like Walker really earn his spot now.

Agreed, how about his 50 metre spot up to Betts in thgoal square in the lat quarter I think), Hoops to me is going to be a very good and damging player as our side gets better!!!

No one.

Only changes should be for injuries. Should be Fevola out (foot injury) for Walker but I doubt it.

Team to remain unchanged. Sends the right message.

No one doubts Walker's commitment but we need him to be able to hit targets consistently.

If carlton are ever going to win a premiership, they have to get rid of the Clokes, Russells, Benticks etc. Those players that wouldnt get a game in a Geelong or Hawthorn team.

Carlton wont be a better team this year by playing the same players as last year.

Give the yarrans, garlands, josephs, johnsons a crack this year.

Rioli was key for Hawthorn last year, Yarran/Garland could be our players this year

Maybe we can trade for him at years end. In the meantime, Garlett looks promising but needs time to develop physically and some time in the Ants wont hurt

We did have 5 new players out of 22 last week.

Yarran maybe, Garland I somehow doubt will give us much. Garlett looks ok though.

Hopefully we can add Gartlett to the mix too.

Smart A$$es, you know what i mean.

Just been reading about how a couple young ones should be dropped for the older players. Drop the players that won't be there in a grand final team. Fair enough, Walker (if ready) and Stevens coming in should be certain

Drop Cloke and Russell, simple :)

Have two ruckmen in jacobs and kruzzzzzzzze

This is going to be so difficult .. maybe we need to adopt a rotation system like the Aussie Cricket team. Lots of players at Carlton with ability ... keep em fresh ... keep rotating ... lol.

Our victory against the Tigers came from our ability to manhandle and tackle them into oblivion. This is somethis I can't really see us being able to do with the EXACT team we took into rd 1.

I love Garletts attack and commitment, but his fitness is still a little low and I can't see him having the same impact this week as he did last week. Plus I think stringing games together this early in the season may be a little too much to ask for the Rookie.

I would like to see Walker put in for Garlett. He still adds the X-Factor to the forward line but his endurance is elite, and a key to us winning the game will be our ability to close out the game

I also can't see us having the luxary of playing Waite on the wing as we did when he was playing on Richardson last week ........... I can however see Grigg coming in to play on Travis Johnson in a similar role, shutting him down and running off the other way. Sure Russel (who's pot Grigg should be taking IMO) would do a similar role, but I would rather the ball in Grigg's hands than Russels ...........

So that is my 2 changes. Walker for Garlett and Grigg for Russel. That said I wouldn't be too disappointed if Russel kept him spot in the side for a week and Griggs had a run in the Ants to earn his spot ........

Guys as well as Joseph played there's just no way known that he'll keep either of Grigg, Carrazzo, Stevens or Walker out of the side. Ditto Garlett.

AJ will stay, speed and tenacity Carrots can only dream of. Carrazzo should never play in defence ever again.

Looks like John Ralph has been on the site, can't argue, both Grigg and Walker are automatic selections, but still who do you drop?

No doubt we have to bring on bigger bodies for the game against the lions. For me walks and grigga must play

Garlett will make way for Grigg

Joseph will make way for Walks

The only thing i'd say the MC may question playing Walks (with a weakened shoulder) as its going to be a more physical contest and no doubt the lions will test it out

they flashed up a stat at 3/4 time and Jospeh had already run something like 13.8 km - he was about 2-3 km ahead of every other player on the paddock

Get the feeling the kid is busting his arse and doing what he has been told to do -would be unlucky to miss - you need your taggers

Had the highest Top Speed on the field also (equal with a couple of others at 30KPH).
