I only saw one day of the Carnival Synbad, I don't profess to be an expert on recruiting so no I won't pick standouts...but hey read through some of my posts from around the first Sunday of the carnival and I'm sure you'll find something....two players that impressed me were Ellis and Dowler but there were others...but I wouldn't call myself a guru on recruiting because I've seen these kids play once, wouldn't be fair for me to name a list of who i think will go where.
Phoenix sorry mate but you're just being stupid. Murphy is not the be all and end all. He is not the messiah. The way you and Synbad and Vintage etc carry on about him you'd think he was the solution to all that is wrong in this world. Maybe he can solve the aids problem, wipe out poverty. He's that good isn't he? No. At the end of the day he's just a very good footballer. But then so are many other kids that will nominate for the draft. Carlton will move forward whether we have Murphy on board or not! How hard is that to grasp!?
Ellis is good.. no doubt about it.
But is he a future captain???
Does he have what it takes to demand the ball and lead a club like say a Voss or a Ball??
Or is he more just a gifted midfielder???
I think we should be trying to draft players capable of taking us somewhere in the leadership stakes as well as the playing talent stakes dont you BB2005??
After all, its not a bad thing to look too far into the future... its called planning for it....
Some people even plan their funerals....
And no you dont profess to be a drafting guru.. but you do say "theres no difference between picks 1 and 3 and 2 and 4 right????
Now youre starting to sound like anony'mouse' and his expert analysis of Dowler and Clark... as seen by the eyes of the guy in the pub...
