This just gets stupider by the minute. So now not only are we standing up for him, there's suddenly an increasing chorus of "Cloke probably deserved it" FFS, this is ridiculous and I can't flowering wait for the club to make a decision so this shit can end.
Bachar Houli smacked out McVeigh last year and because it wasn't captured on camera nothing was said nor was any player disciplined
Ever heard the story about Fev and Campo in the gym????? i bet no
One bloke over stepped the mark big deal man. Slap him over the wrist and move on
Were either of these guys kicked in the arse while they were down? I bet no.
did you witness this kick?
Do you mean was I there when it happened? No. But by this point, I doubt there's many who haven't seen it.
no you haven't seen it, you have seen a replay of it. It was never a kick, but with our culture of 'no kicking' it was always going to be a case of 'Kicking' with all the inherent indignant screaming associated with it. The act was a glimpse into just how much Carlos had lost it, it was ugly for that reason not because it was a 'kick' - and it was never 'a kick up the arse'. Without that last action I think I'd have been rather happy to see the big fella finally throw some weight around.
It's amazing how all of a sudden we're all experts on human anatomy. "The was .7 of a inch too far to the right to be his arse, and his ankle didn't meet the required angle nor did he use the required bone to make contact, storm in a teacup". His teammate was down, his arse was showing, he kicked (yes, KICKED) him there. Whether he connected with his sphincter or not, and whether he teed off like he was going for a rugby conversion or not, it was a kick. There's more than one type of kick in the world. But either way you're right, it was the act itself that has everyone pissed off, and those that are saying that it wasn't too bad because *insert excuse here* are missing the point entirely.
oh so know there are all sorts of kicks to the arse, so should we have a rating system as to how hard a kick? How accurate a kick? etc.
No, lets just use the generalized 'he kicked him in the arse' to cover all the variances.
Its this incisive logic that leads to the law beings taken away from discussions about how hard/ intention/whys and wherefores etc, into, he kicked him, its assault, 3 years! usually by people who, of course, have only seen a replay, read a paper or heard it from a mate.
It is this brilliant insightful thinking that led to Linda Chamberlain being found guilty for know other reason than people wanted it so. There are degrees. In terms of degrees Carlos was disrespectful to Cloke and unfortunately gave a whole horde of 'holier than thous' a perfect excuse to howl for blood.
As soon as I saw the act I knew Carlos would be in trouble, not because of the act, but because of reactions to it, after we australians are all so damn manly and fine, we do everything right - and love nothing better than to pooint the finger and everyone who doesn;t live up to our lofty ideals of manliness, sportsmanship and ability to interpret replays.
Carlos may well be gone, if so I hope it is not for that 'terrifying kick up the arse that has maimed clokey for life and ruined the minds of countless innocent australian children and the bonding of our most fragile team'.
