Just saw it on the TV.

After reading all the reports and hearing it on radio my comment is "What an overreaction"!!!! :yikes:

Some people were comparing it to the Hall hit. Not even close! :fight:

He barely hit him and Cloke went down like a bag of Sh1t and then got up.

The only problem I have is the kick whilst he is on the ground, very weak but not career threatening.

I reckon Carlton will fine him and move on.

Nothing to see here!

I agree, I reckon the kick(which wasnt much more than a tap) was in frustration to Cloke diving. No way Cloke is that physically weak, those hits would have KO'd him, if he is i would be seriously worried.
He still shouldn't have hit him and should be fined/suspended etc, but to sack him for that would be unprofessional. If we would sack Fev for that, then fine, but no way we would. Being professional is about consistency, not sacking those lower in the pecking order and giving multiple chances to other players.

for those saying that there wasn't much in it, think of it this way:

Fev is wrestling with Dustin Fletcher, they go to ground, Fletcher punches him twice knocking him down, as he walks away he turns and kicks fev up the arse.

What would you be saying?

It wasn't.

It was a intra-club match, happens all the time. Pretty sure Diesel and Rhys-Jones went at it a few times during intra-club matches, in the end they had to play on the same side. Also remember Peter Dean broke a finger once when he tried to clip Hickmont over the head for a payback from the 95GF.

The kick was just a bit cheek'ish

If sentanta gets the sack over this incident them its an absolute disgrace.

Some of you guys are so precious & quick to burn the guy....get the full story before you start casting a judgement.

I just can’t understand you guys defending Setanta the d*g, I reckon the players themselves should revolt if the Club shows any weaknesses and keeps him on the list.

This may be the end of the Irish experiment for good now.

Well done Carlos, you mad Irish bastard ! :screwy:

Seriously, I think it's a overkill (except the toe poke bit, but I'm sure Carlos was just making sure Clokey was still breathing).

A. It shows the mad Irish bastard has a fire in his belly and doesn't take shit from no-one including a team mate :fight:
B. It shows Clokey can take a good punch to the head and be OK. :donk:

Nothing wrong with what Ratts said either.

Nothing in it, IMO, give him a fine, and get on with it.....

If it goes to the tribunal, it'll be like an intra club for our legal team.

He shouldn't get ANYTHING from the fookin tribunal. Its an intraclub, he hit his own teammate, if he goes at the tribunal then once again we'll have a first for Carlton. The first player EVER suspended for clocking your own teammate

I think you need to get over yourself and bias, the penalty will come from the leadership group  Whatever that is.

Just to clear up a couple of things in the Herald Sun article:

- the game was not stopped at 3/4 time. The last quarter was played, but shortened to 10 minutes due to decreasing numbers with Carrazzo, Cloke and Setanta all being off the ground.

- Carrazzo's injury is not expected to be serious, initial response was that it was a forearm injury but probably mostly a muscle problem, they will know more after a scan, but hopefully only 1-2 weeks

The hit was disgraceful - happened just before 3/4 time, Fev stepped over and told O'hAilpin to get off the ground, when Setanta walked over to the huddle at 3/4 time, Stevo gave him a spray and then he, Thornton and Waite all told him to leave the field.

That is the reason why I reckon he will get an AFL suspension.

An excuse to give the Blues a sanction that the other 15 wouldnt get.

GRRRRR!

amazing that Fev, Stevens, Waite and Thornton clearly weren't happy while some 'experts' on here don't think it was much.

Clearly a conspiracy theory, lets remember people, everyone is against Saintanta

Maybe those who don't think it's a big deal enjoy being poked in the pooper themselves

And I still want an explanation from Ian Coutts. We can't cover this one up - it's out there in all its glory - so get on the front foot and do what you're paid for. It would literally take 3 and a half minutes to write up that statement - run it past Sticks and co for approval - and send it to the media...instead - it's being left out there to fester on SEN and then TV tonight.

We're a bit more professional than that these days don't you think?

.

What is your problem?

You want the club, via their Comms Manager to release a statement virtually straight after the incident, without having done any sort of internal investigation, without ascertaining whether Cloke said something outrageously unacceptable that provoked the hit? I;'m not saying this likely was the case, but surely the club should investigate the incident in full before releasing a statement.

Ratten;s comments were fine. They were non-commital because the club hasn't as yet fully investigate all the facts.
