Did you see Bowers last quarter against Brisbane last year against Bradshaw? Early on in the season he also played on Travis Cloke and beat him comfortably. There is nothing wrong with his body strength.
He just needs to be injury free.

I've never met a weak deep sea fisherman.

The last time I spoke with Bower we talked about the thrill of catching big fish; it's a passionof his. He's done it with his mates since they were kids.

I agree with you woof. Bower is a strong boy.

Don't look at his age, look at his performances against the big bodies.

IMO, if Setanta isn't fit enough to play against the monsters, Bower (not Waite) is next in line to do the job.

I can't wait to see what will become of him after the next 4 months....bigger and stronger...and he'll always be mobile. He's a bit of a freak, who gave our very own bigger bodied JK (now WCE) a run for his money playing at CHB in the Under 18's.

Bower was named Under 18 AA CHB 3 years ago. He is coming into his 3rd year of senior footy, and he will take the footy world by surprise in 2009.

Bower and me talk about chicks!!! :P

Here's my team.

B: Scotland Jamison Thornton

HB: Bower Waite Grigg

C: Simpson Stevens Gibbs

HF: Walker Kruezer Fisher

F: Yarran Fevola Betts

R: Warnock Judd Murphy

Int: Cloke, Houlihan, Armfield, Carrots

That was very hard to do. There's quite a few players that I'd like to fit into the team but couldn't. This is a good thing, players on the fringe will need to be playing at their best next year as any one of Anderson, Browne, Hampson, Hartlett, Russell, Wiggins, Bannister, Hadley, Austin, Bentick and Edwards will glady take their spots. Also expecting big things from Robinson, I got a good vide about this kid.

Was that before or after his wrist went limp and put in a sling?

I made a conscious effort to not let him in on the wonders of the darkside; the numbers game (plural).

Wine song and women have brought many a footballer's/ sportsman's career undone. I'm testimony to that.

I'd deliberately misspell Trengove if I ran Footy Magnets...

I'm pretty sure even Blair Hartley read out "Trengrove" at the draft table

Now that the list is completed!

Firsts:

FB: Michael Jamison- Paul Bower - Chris Johnson

HB: Joe Anderson -Mark Austin - Shaun Grigg

C: Jarrad Waite - Bryce Gibbs - Kade Simpson

HF: Ryan Houlihan - Matthew Kreuzer - Andrew Walker

FF: Eddie Betts - Brendan Fevola - Chris Yarran

FOLL: Robert Warnock - Chris Judd - Marc Murphy

INT: Andrew Carrazzo - Richard Hadley - Cameron Cloke- Nick Stevens

Seconds:

FB: Steven Browne - Setanta O'Hailpin- Jordan Bannister

HB: Heath Scotland- Bret Thornton - Rhys O'Keefe

C: Mitch Robinson - Dennis Armfield - Jordan Russell

HF: Simon Wiggins - Adam Hartlett - Brad Fisher

FF: David Ellard- Jake Edwards- Sam Jacobs

FOLL: Shaun Hampson- Darren Pfieffer- Adam Bentick

INT: Caleb Tiller-Greg Bentley-Aaron Joseph-Jeff Gartlett-Luke Stanton-Lachie Hill

Not easy to do! Actually woouldn't mind them playing against each other. Fair case for a lot of these players to be in the firsts. If we can stay injury free could be a big 2009.

Holy cow, our seconds defence ain't too bad at all!!!

I agree with having Chris Johnson in the firsts backline too cj69 (and Joey!)

My stab at round 1:

FB: Thornton Jamison Bower
HB: Johnson Waite Walker
C: Gibbs Murphy Scotland
HF: Houla Kruezer Simpson
FF: Yarran Fevola Betts
R: Warnock Judd Stevens

Int: Hadley Grigg Cloke Carrazzo

EMG: Fisher Browne Armfield

Skill out the wazoo, with plenty of toughness to boot. Simmo could be a weak link if he has another year like 2008.

Me thinks plenty of names will be up for consideration by mid-season.

Mark my words ... Robertson will be a star (reminds me of James Hird)... will play many games this season. I would definitely be including him in the 22.

So difficult now to put a team together ... so many good players could miss out as the Might Blues become a polished professional football team in 2009.
