Like Clarko mentioned during the week that Hawthorn Football are a ruthless bunch and do no one favors.

I'd expect the same attitude from the Carlton football it was our current president who famously said "we are Carlton, flower the rest'

Carlton were ruthless in their ten wins this year.

Ah shit happens.

Clarkson is a dog. Let our boys remember it, and the floggings the Hawks gave us this season. Let Fev chase that hard all bloody season. Let Ratts find a way around the flooding.

Let us kick there sorry asses for the next decade.

I actually think Croad and Brown wanted Fev to get his 100... Browns free kick in front of goals was contrived in my opinion..

its not about what happened - in fact I was trying to explain to my son that Hawthorn were doing what a team should do - if Fev got his hundred then he deserved them, if not so be it - more about how it might be perceived in say 10 years time. I just wonder how this will be painted some time in the future.

Will this be our underarm incident?

And Croady could have gone a little harder with some of his spoiling attempts.

What I saw last night was one of the worst coaching tactics I have witnessed.

If the ultimate in sportsmanship was to go one on one with Fev and have Croad or whoever pull out of a contest to allow the 100th goal, and to leave a man one on one and have him try to stop Fev was considered neutral, then putting 3 men on him with 90 seconds left is an absolute snivelling disgrace.

I hope the Hawks supporters are proud of their fealess leader. Have any of the brave media cottoned on to this, or are they too busy smelling the roses that grow out of the coward's arse?

TURDS!!

Hawthorn will be bridesmaids to Geelong, as the filth were to Brisbane.

In a couple of years when our window opens, we will smash them.

This rates up there with the day terry wallet got the dogs up at Princes Park in 2000 to snap a 12 or 13 game winning streak by introducing the uber flood.

Both tactics were within the rules but were not in the spirit of the game or why we go each week. Lets hope the football gods remember and the dawks lose a controversial final soon. Go doggies.

Mentioned to a few of their supporters on the way home...they are making up the numbers.

BTW...dropping layers back is in the rules...players blocking Fev from going for the mark isn't....

I was at the game and some of the things I saw were unacceptable...particularly from the umpires...in the second quarter there is a particularly disgraceful act when an umpire doesn't pay a free because Fev gave him a spray...was it on the TV?

I think it was prety obvious with Rats after the game not wanting to comment if he was in the same boat as Clarkson, throwing 4 playings around the likes of Buddy when the game was well and truely out of contention of changing any results.
Like coach, like players, Hawthorn is a bunch of "hard nuts"....

You guys are getting carried away over nothing.

hawthorn was trying to stop Carlton scoring goals, not a personal vendetta against fevola.

When you guys played a normal forward line, Hawthorn marked a normal forward line.

When Carlton made it abundently clear that they were going to ridiculous lengths to ensure Fev took the last kick, Hawthorn had to counter that.

It was Carlton that decided that the whole focus was not winning or competing, but to get Fev his ton.

What was Hawthorn supposed to do? Somehow divorce the fact that Fevola scoring goals equates to Carlton scoring goals? Let it happen?

Some of you guys such like you belong at PRE.

There was nothing personal or vindictive in it.

Bullshit

What about the game being bigger than some of the turdburgers in it.

Hawthorn had the game won

Hawthorn will be playing the Doggies next week

Why not allow Fev on Croad

Clarkson is an angry little prick

But Ali dont forget my head is to big for my strange body friend

had we known the lows your scumbag of a coach was willing to go to to deny Fevola his milestone i would have happily advocated us playing 4 men on Franklin all night long. i would have happily given roughead 15 goals before giving Franklin any opportunity for the 2 he needed.

the issue is, all things considered, it was a total dog act to put men behind the ball. it was completely unnecessary considering you were winning the ball out of the middle and were 13 goals infront with 2 minutes on the clock. i think if you watch the match again, apart from the few contests (yes, i was astonished buddy the brave goes to contests as well, considering he's weak as piss) that demanded extra bodies, we went with bower on franklin pretty much exclusively all night long. that was in the spirit of the game, that was playing the game the way it should be played.

lets hope some wise heads in the media rip into that bushy eyebrowed cockroach for what is rightfully being described as a disgrace.

You were 70 points up, 27 minutes into the final quarter and dropped back an additional 3 defenders.

If the roles were reversed and Carlton led by 70, Franklin stuck on 99, 27 mins into the final quarter and we dropped back 3 defenders to stop Franklin I would be extremely disappointed. Jeez - if you are the leading team in that situation you back yourself in to continue the rout don't you?

Poor form - the football gods have a month to work it out.

Clarkson is a disgrace, at least Chappell did it to try to win the game.
Small man-small club.
