I don't think that the position exists anymore. I believe Cloke could be a very effective and dangerous forward, but play the point halfway from the goal square and 50mt ark. He hits the pack hard and will create oppertunities for hoops and betts if he fails to mark. Cloke chases and although not fast, will still put pressure on backmen, after all the opposition will need to put someone tall on him who probably isn't much better when the ball hits the deck either.

..i reckon he can definately be good.. ..firstly, having two targets up forward that can easily kick over 50 (with accuracy) can't be laughed at.. ..cam's also a strong contested mark, and he's not afraid to crash the packs.. ..having him up forward enables him to ruck there, which lets the ruckman float back to help defence.. ..if anything, next year i'd try cam out of the goalsquare, for the contest.. ..and have fev lead out and roam the F50.. ..how they line up on paper is rarely how they stroll out on field..

He's a great mark, a bloody good kick and gives his all every time. But his mobility is what holds him back. I think it would be better to answer the question next year after he's been given some of Cordy's pre-season magic to see whether he can improve in this area. If so, then hell yeah!

He is the boy who learnt to fly, Could be anything.

I believe he will be one of those players that will keep improving for many years, as opposed to those that peak early.

Has improved his kicking through sheer hard work and practice, and the same can be said for the rest of his game.

I can't think of one reason why he can't be very handy up forward for us.

I have a lot of respect for Cam as he respects himself, and the jumper....

He might have voted in the negative, like I did, but elected not to comment.

The problem with these types of assumptions is that it can lull people into a false sense of security.

Cloke has turned into a handy player to have at the club but we need a better sidekick for Fev.

Hodge ran off him early and then the move was made.

I don't believe we should look at last nights game as an example of how ineffective cloke's game was in the forward 50. For many reasons the ball did not enter our forward 50 effectively. Hodge was allowed to sit of cam with confidence he did not need to compete in the air. Would have been a differen't story if the ball was delivered on clokes head, hodge's role would have changed!!

Do believe cam will be a very effective forward, can mark, kick and contest. However his success in this position will be determined by the smaller forwards converting when cam is bringing the ball down in contested play.

Go Blues.

Cloke was always pushing shit uphill against Hodge...

We were never going to be using Cloke as a target man.. so Hodge was never going to be really defending against him.. the ball was always going to be going to Fev.. but without Cloke as a forward weapon.. Hodge could just use his advantage to do what he liked...
