Armfield to play on Thomas or campbell.

I love the dangle

if Betts is fit a certainty

Would play Bower

Wiggins deserves the fourth spot

I think Cloke and Saddington might miss with Betts and Bower coming in to the side.
We don't want to be too top heavy against the Roos when you consider that they are without McIntosh and Thompson.

thats a brilliant call, wouldn't see that coming would they. and it's hard to argue, betts has great disposal, rarely goes to ground in a contest, and he's got the best defensive pressure in the team. also a strong tackler and a decent over head mark when you think about it.

it's just he is so valuable up the other end.

and he would have had a bloody field day last week.
interesting call though. wouldn't mind seeing him on campbell

if eddie betts is fit to play, there is no where else on the field i would rather see him play then front and square of the forward line.
Last week Fevola, Kreuzer and walker were all fighting for the ball and we saw them spoil each other on a number of occasions, and there is no one in our team that can crumb the ball like eddie.

Betts in, Bower should but????
Saddo and ?????
Wiggo- hard as nails, great mark and kick. Needed
Army- would be ideal for one of their small forwards. Needed
Cloke- most likely needed if we want to have kreuzer up forward and might be handy if their talls are too big up forward. Probably needed.

So Bower would be handy but not sure if we can afford to with the bench listed.

In the NM line up they have Hale and McMahon as the key forwards.
Whoever has Hale will need someone crashing the pack, he is to tall one on one for the backmen. Thornton, Jamo, Grigg, Browne and maybe Bower or Army should be able to cover them without Waite down their full time but with Walks and co now finding form up forward he may be needed.
Maybe play Waite loose across HB, crashing packs and filling gaps and hope or forwards can handle the extra man in their defence

Are North being a bit cocky?

from The Age:
Quote:
North Melbourne decided against risking key forward Nathan Thompson and ruckman Hamish McIntosh for Sunday's important AFL clash with Carlton.

Thompson was left out of the squad for the Telstra Dome match after injuring his ankle early in last Sunday's win over the Western Bulldogs.

The `Roos had also been toying with bringing McIntosh straight back into the side after seven games out with a knee injury, with coach Dean Laidley saying earlier in the day he was keen to include him.

...

The coach was confident the `Roos had enough quality talls without the injured pair, noting developing ruckman Todd Goldstein and utility Leigh Brown had "been doing good things in the VFL".

I hope they have made a massive blunder.

Fisher and Russell both named in the starting 18.

There go 80% of predicted line ups.

They're not going to be dropped...I wonder if they'll get it next week.

Corresponding game last year - AB was almost BOG - 36 possessions...........perfect match up for Harris. Has done particularly well on Harris in the past.

agree entirely - likewise one team thornton shouldn't play against (with 14 others). would be a crying shame to see him in and wiggo out.

when bower is ready, then thornton goes.
Jeez, Beatle, you hate Thornton almost as much as the Preacher hates Houla.
When Bower is ready, Saddington goes. Thornton isn't going anywhere just yet.
You're a hard man.

I hate it when we play on Sunday and all we get on Thursday is squad.

I am really excited about this week, because if we are genuine contenders then we need to beat the Roos this week. I would love to see us go in with our own plan this week, and play our own game.

Bower definately in for Saddington.

And Betts if fit in for Armfield. As far as needing Armfield to play on one of Campbell or Thomas i do not think it is necessary. There are a few of our taller defenders that can play small. Thornton, Grigg, Jamison are all options and because North do not have a taller forward line i think we will be ok.

If anything i wouldnt mind seeing Armfield in fro Browne. I like both kids but Army is quicker and seems more composed than Browne.
