Not sure where you're getting your info from DUC but that's way out there...

It was a line in a movie once GWS.

Not sure what movie, come to think of it............

The main difference is that a psychiatrist is a doctor that diagnoses mental illness and can prescribe medication to treat severe cases, whereas a psychologist can use other non-pharmacological therapies for more mild cases of mental illness that are often as effective as drugs (with less side effects)

That said - Fev needs neither. He doesn't have a mental illness, he's just a d**head.

That said - Fev is not just a d**head, he is a freakish gun full forward, with as much match winning potential as any player in the league.

Tough choices lie ahead.

No problem.

I'm surrounded by them. Partner's an analyst (and not even Greek), step-mum's a psychologist, uncle's a psychiatrist and mum was a social worker and family therapist.

Fev might benefit from an analysis but it's a long haul and by the time there's any progress made he'd probably be retired and no use to us anyway.

Probably best stick with "slap around the head" therapy. :(

Thanks GWS.

It would be nice if Fev just knocked on Swanny's office and said, can I sign the contract right now as I don't want to miss out on the future we are building here.

**sigh**

As a regular bloke on the street he's probably normal, but as an elite professional sportsman his emotions swing too far. Surely there's room for improvement with the right assistance.

That decision on the weekend to reverse the free kick to Fev made me sick.

Players bump one another all the time after various marks or freekicks. It was only that pathetic Lake flopped on the floor to fool the umpire into making that decision.

The commentators went crazy saying how stupid Fev is for bumping Lake.
The umpire needs a bullet for getting sucked in by players faking!

Fev should no better though, I agree. The umpires are always watching him off the ball because that's where he does the silly stuff.

All in all Fev gets treated more harshly than others which is not fair but you'd have to say he has bought some of that upon himself.

I still want Fev in my line up though!

Try to pick our forward line without him. Good luck!

Anyone know if we've signed Fevola up yet?

Have we even offered him a deal?

Every time he plays a great game like he did on sunday the ante must go up . He will play more , he's a great player and we have the midfield to feed him now . If we don't sign him before the season is over , it will be an all in sh1t-fight , and we will be the losers . If he goes elsewhere , we won't get full value . Look at Sonny Bill . I can't help thinking Fev's mentality is about the same . We should sign him now , if , as has been stated , the differences aren't far apart . Fix it , and get it over with , or be prepared to lose a 100 goal a season full forward .

ii dont think we have but i would say between now and end of season would be the best time to do it while media attention has been turned away...

i think it would be best for swan and fev and co to do the deal now and keep it quite until end of season

This is just my thought on fevs contract and the best way to go about it...

cheers

Interesting read, especially this bit.

Quote:
It is interesting to go back to the full-forwards listed at the top of this page, which includes some of the biggest stars of all time in Gary Ablett and Tony Lockett. Is it a coincidence that as good as they all were, they all played at more than one club, and none of them won a premiership?

yes but i found this rather interesting ststement in that article

Quote:
If we look at the spearheads of recent premiership sides, the list includes well-controlled players such as Lloyd, Warren Tredrea and Alastair Lynch along with Barry Hall and Cameron Mooney

i wouldnt have said Barry Hall was well well controlled when Sydney won their premiership...

in my opinion having these contreversial forwards is nt going to stop a team making the finals or winning them...

cheers

oz, I think the article is intimating that the guys in the first bracket were well controlled, and Hall and Mooney are headcases.

That's the way I read it anyway.

Jason "The Crashing Bore" Dunstall won a few premierships in his time and is arguably one of the greatest Full Forwards of all time.

They still played in 5 GF's between them. Ablett played about 8-10 games for Hawthorn very early in his career after following his two brothers to the club. Other than the technicality it's almost not worth mention he played for 2 clubs. You can go through clubs that have's close to all of them.had gun forwards and won flags. That's close to all of them.

BTW didn't Alistair Lynch play at 2 clubs. And I think Plugger was in total control of himself at Sydney.

FEV FEV FEV FEV FEV

Sign up soon, you'll get a taste of Finals action this year *fingers crossed ;) * - you'll want to sign up soon, because you never get to play another Final if you end up with Melbourne or Wet Toast in the PSD. :P
