Can only help someone who admits he has a problem. Fev has been down that path and rejected it!

Gotta agree with that CJ. Can only help someone who ADMITS they have a problem.

But surely only IF they actually have a problem, other wise, why would someone admit to a problem they don't have. :?

Does Fev have a problem? If so, what is it? :)

The issue regarding Fev is that his personality doesn't neccesarily fit the typical criteria for a team environment. He will not change.

The big decision is whether the good outways the bad? The comments alone on this website show how hard a decision it is.

NO ONE can be certain either way, he is just to unpredicatble. The only judgement can be made by time.

OK, sounds fair, we will judge him in time then.

Bottom line for me is, will we win more games with Fev or without him?

For me, we will win plenty more with him than without. In fact if we lose Fev now (& we won't) it will put the development of this side back at least one if not two seasons.

Fev is Fev, the same as Wayne Gretzky was himself. He was not a great team man either by all accounts, but I doubt you will find anyone to dispute he was a champion & won his side many titles as a result of him being a great player, NOT a great person or team player. From all accounts he was a very selfish player, but the players around him knew, get the ball to him & he will score & WIN you games.

Judd, as an example, appears to be both a great player & team man & person, & thats great for him & anyone else like him but he aint Fev. We should take Fev's personality out of the equation & concentrate on the results he provides.

His attitude on field may have had an effect on these kids in the past but as these kids grow up & play more with Fev, if he gets stuck into them on field in future, they will simply tell him to flower off or better still won't kick it to him. Ie, the problem, if any, will no longer be one for the team but rather Fev himself.

In fact I saw a sign of it yesterday, when he was on the lead to Murph, who didn't end up kicking to him & Fev gave him a filthy look. Murph then appeared to have a - fine, flower you too look on his face & subsequently turned away from Fev & kicked it to someone else.

As theirs & others confidence within this group grows & the TEAM grows & develops, Fev will quickly realise he has less power than he used to over the outcome of results for this team.

As I said Fev is Fev. To me he is still a big kid & sometimes acts that way?
So what? Get over it & move on. All people change as they move through life. It is this overall, constant change that eventually determines who we are in life, so to say Fev won't change I think is narrow sighted. Are you the same person now as you were 20 years ago? How about 10? 5?

Alot of great players, superstars (etc) throughout time have been terrible team people, but sporting clubs are there to win titles/flags (etc) & if that person will get them there quicker, there is not a club in the world that will get rid of them. Most will get rid of "nice" guys & keep the "arrogant, self-centred" STAR, because the nice guys wont keep the coaches & managers in a job. The STARS will.

Why all this ridiculous over-analysis. He kicked 6.5 yesterday contributed highly to us winning, as he has done a number of times, has won a Coleman Medal, the Aylett Medal in the State Game with his 6 goals, A Michael Tuck Medal, and on target for not only pushing 100 goals this year but pushing close to 50 tackles as well. Many goals have been kicked from a Fev-created turnover this year. Rather than looking at what he doesn't do let's look at what he does do. Imagine being positive !!!! He'll frustrate, that's Fev and the media will build that perception with a magnifying glass, but the good will outweigh the bad by along way. Sometimes in life you can't have everything and you have to take the good with the bad. Be thankful for what we have got.

Fevola has averaged 5 and a half goals a game over the past six weeks. If he carries that into the next five weeks he will crack the magical ton!

unfortunately we've got a pretty tough run home so he's going to have his work cut out, but if anyone can do it fev can.

how great would it be if in the round 22 clash against hawthorn, both buddy and fev crack the ton.

If Buddy gets it in Round 22 lets hope he starts the day on 99.

So under the AFL 'best fit' policy, we can assume that this game will be played at the G, huh?

If we're a chance to sneak in, and Buddy and Fevelenko are going for tons there'd be a ton wanting to go to this game.

The best fit policy has officially been scrapped in any case.

Probably because it was never utilised. Not even once.

The only time a game was moved was for the surface.

Still, we should all Email the AFL and ask when the announcement about the game being moved under the best fit policy will be made.
