Mate Fev is not the only one who smiles after we lose. I have made this very comment about this ages ago. I really hate it, its disrespectful. How many think that Josh Kennedy should not have hugged the Carlton players after we beat them. Nobody Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Fev more than Fevoltion and Synbad. Bookmark this !!!!!!!

I dont think so mate!!! biggest fan right here.

but all this crap about him huggin the players n shit like that, he does that nearly every game win lose of draw, this has been blowin out of all porportion he put his arm around milney for like 10 secs, big flower deal, he did couple weeks ago to chris newman, he "hugged" rama wen we played the bombers, a lot of players hugged kennedy after the eagles game, anythin said then??? no, storm in a tea cup. It amazing how everyone all of the sudden gets into fev when he has 1 bad game, and get stuck into him like no tomorrow sayin get rid of him, but wen he comes out and kicks 8 or plays well everyone loves him and says who ever thinks this guy should be traded is a moron, best forward in the game, you cant have it both ways people.

All this contract talk is done by the media and all you guys have been sucked in aswell as ratts, when brendan is asked or the club or his manager is asked, they say they dont want to talk about it, it will get done soon, its the media that right somethin new and different every day because they are so obsessed with it and write articles based on rumours and here say. The first time fev actually said somethin was on triple m on the weekend. Ratts is sick of the media askin him about the contract and who can blame him, when the media are like a dog with a bone, never leavin the topic alone. How do we know what is going on in the negotations? contracts dont get done in one day they take some time, look at murph and waitey they still havent re-signed, whats the hold up there? whats the hold up with jono brown? who knows but everythin will be done and nothin is said. All this talk and rubbish said about fev by carlton supporters and people in the media is just funny seein people gettin sucked in by the media and by rumours. Maybe for once carlton supporters could actually back their players instead of attackin them every minute.

So the coach of the Carlton Football Club is being sucked in by the media like the rest of us plebs?

Would you think that Ratts might know a wee bit more to what is going on than you or I do?

Perhaps Ratts's issue on Saturday morning on SEN was more about how Fev performed on Friday night night, than his contract negotiations.

Na they would have waited 1/2 hour then shouted each other pots and botted smokes of each other for the next 3+ hours

Well maybe not Doully :-D

The best thing about threads like this is it really brings all the Fev nutjobs out of the closet each time it happens, those who hate him unreasonably and those who love him unreasonably.

It makes skipping crap posts from certain posters about Fevola in the future much much easier and is a great time saver.

So thank you Fev contract thread. :-D

I dont think ratts got sucked in at all.

When all this speculation first started Ratts has consistently played a straight bat, despite the persistent questioning, and said he will not make any public comments on it and leave the negotiations to Swann and Icke. He also said his only interest in the contract was once the deal was done, or if there was a major stumbling block.

For him to make the comments he did... esp the bit about "if they want more money than we can afford to pay then they can bugger off"... and for Swanny to publically back his comments later.... methinks Fev's management are starting to demand too much for the contract. I think thats what prompted the outburst more than anything the media came up with.

Just heard this on Nightline - Carlton offered Fev a 3 year deal to tie him up
early, only to have his management reject the offer.

I may have misheard this next bit, they mentioned a 4 year offer - i'm not sure if that is what Fev's management is holding out for, but 4 years was definitely mentioned, in what context I don't know.

(Anyone else watching Nightline care to fill in the gaps? Don't worry, I won't mention the fact the 'Girls of the Playboy Mansion' was on directly beforehand... )

News thing ended with them saying that the contract talks with Fev have now been put on the backburner until closer to the end of the season.

Man... can't believe this thread start with this shitty post.

Great player, and even greater flower... with such a young group, his influence is magnified, thus his bad influence really is a bad influence!

Trade him for 2 first rounders... I don't care if it takes a year to find his replacement, we aren't going forward with him bein the centre of the universe. If he stayed and changed his ways just a little bit and the team was better for it, I would love nothing more, but the fact is he is 27 and is simply not going to happen.

If Fev is such a dsitraction and detracts from a team so much...why would anyone give us 2 first rounders for him?

If its obvious to our supporters, its as sure as hell going to be obvious to the other clubs.

1. Our group is young and impressionable

2. Going somewhere where he won't have such an influence is probably best, ie Sydney

3. I only bought up 2 first rounders as a best case scenario/what we could/should demand.

It's obvious Fev is wearing thin on most Carlton people.

When Gerard Healy bought that up 2 weeks ago OTC, Wallsy said he was sick of it.

I'm sick of it.

I couldn't give 2 hoots if he does or doesn't atm, I've lost interest.

Whether it's Fev's doing or his managers, they have really tarnished his reputation furthermore, and perhaps devalued him.

He should have signed asap by stealth as a sign that he's in it for the flag with this great young group...no fuss, assertive and immediate.

I agree with you LFTWING11.

This whole saga doesn't give a good impression of anything other than (I hope) greed tarnishes.

Re: the St Kilda love fest

Perhaps Fev's been watching too many of those Legends matches where everybody hugs everyone else after the game. It's catchy!

For my 5 cents worth the Riewoldt, Selwood, Ablett, McVeigh and Cloke clans are less lovey-dovey after a game.

We simply cannot lose fev! CANNOT lose fev

Hes the heart and soul of our footy club, always the first to go over to the fans after a big win, the last to stay out to sign autographs and training and young kids idolise him.

If we lose fev will go back 3-5 yrs in our development. A good young pic will take 3 yrs max to develop and honestly i dont see us nabbing browny or pav to our fwd line

Fev will sign a 3 yr deal, stay a blue to he retires and walk off as a carlton great.

McKinley and Kerr to CFC next year.

How many of our youngsters are pissing against walls and hugging the opposition after a game? Maybe they're not as impressionable and Fev isn't as influential as you think.

What if the best we get offered is a 3rd round pick? Is it still worth trading him?

I hope Kruezer, Murphy, Gibbs et al, don't look at how Fev has handled his contract negotiations and think this is the norm and how it is done.

if he puts the red thing thru the two big white things on average 4 - 5 times per match I couldn't give a flower who he hugs.

I hope they don't look at where he chooses to urinate. I haven't heard any reports of them doing it in public so it appears at this stage they pay no attention to what Fev does and there's nothing to worry about.
