its just the nature of the media beast .... isnt it?

It was typical Caroline Wilson "I hate Carlton" crap.

Where is her article on Ben Holland and the Richmond salary cap conspiracy? Conveniently forgotten because there is Carlton bashing to be done.

Fev is no brain surgeon. He causes heartache. Arguably he could/should have been traded before, but that time is probably past. Bottom line: He will resign.

I suppose being a 3 time premiership player and respected club and state Captain gives you a bit of credence in media circles.

The parallels between fevola and Stevens

Selfish

No matter what they say or how they say it its someone elses fault

sooks

its a team sport

So a guy has kicked 64 goals in 15 games

Is he worth all this fuss

The guy is damaged goods

Maybe we should pack him off to Sydney so that Roos can try to change him like he changed Baz

And take Stevo with him

Surely we get some deal going hey

What goes on behind the scenes and what effect fevola has had on the team cant be quantified as opposed to 64 goals

In the last 6 years or so how many flower have played in premiership teams.

Dont count Cousins Kerr and co

Off the field yep but they were champions on it

Did the team things

Showed leadership on the field

Tell me does Fev do that

Only when he wants to

Look at all the @#$%&! ups listed a few posts back

And what about taking his boots off before the end of the Freo game

Talking to the Richmond cheer squad when he should of been cocentrating on Murphy's kick

This contract stuff is the same

Its all about Fev

Fev sooks about the captaincy and the fact he didnt get a look in on the rotations policy last year.

So what does he do

Sooks and lets the team down

its happening again

Word to Fev

If you really want to play in a Navy Blue jumper
sign the thing tomorrow
Before ratten truly thinks your not worth keeping

Money Bags Fev. Hope he isn't trying to screw us.

The whispers are that his salary has not been agreed. They are telling the media it is the behavioural clauses that has stopped the deal from going through.

We need to leave room in the cap for the youngsters otherwise we won't be able to re-sign them when out of contract.

This was posted on June 18. Now we hear in the media that money is the issue straight from Ratten.

No wonder Ratten sounded frustrated if Fev and his managers have been haggling since mid June.

I am looking out for what Clayman has to say today and then we can read about it in August. Hope you start talking about premierships.

Ratten should be looking at what he his job is... before going to the media to comment about Fevs contract 8 weeks before the season ends...

...weird...

Yeh, no spotlight on Murphy and Waite.

Why would Murphys contract be taking so long, he has been with us for all of 5 minutes. Dont tell me these are signs to come from him, being difficult come contract time. Historically young kids take no time at all, why is this taking so long. I hopethe reason are only because I am naive.

Lets be fair people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too am sick of the fev circus, but only cause i want him to stay so much.

You no why

because they choose not to be in the spotlight all the time

They dont act like babies

granted The media are pathetic and if he sniffs out of this nose down Lygon street its front page news but do you think
Murphy or Waite would ring up a radio station live and pronounce his innocence.

Ring his mates from TFS

Fevola is his own worst memory and cant see that

Or he just likexs the limelight too much.

No you dont thats right, because Fev sells papers.......

I would rather have Fev than johnno brown anyday. You know why, because brown has nothing to do with my club whatsoever, and he has done nothing for my club either......

So get off you high horses.

Yeah .... agree it's weird mainly because all coaches will usually say that they coach and contracts are handled by the football dept. Having said that it also appears that the whole thing, like it or not, is also getting to Ratten (good, bad, ??). Having come out and told Fevola to sign up tells me that he won't be traded while Ratten is at the club. Stating the obvious!

Whilst I don't agree with Ratten speaking about it on radio I believe Ratten felt very let down by Fev's efforts on Friday night. He has supported him wholeheartedly all year and when he tried to get more out of the fwd line by playing Fev at HF in a more mobile and team oriented role Fev spat it.

Once again Fev first the rest second.

I thought it was MAclures article from a week ago....

Let me see the credits????

It says Caro......... but im sure its just plagarism....

geez shes a good journo eh????

Irrespective of who wrote the article - about time it was said. The club is greater than any individual.

Look unfortunately for Fev he is a personality ... right???
And he is unusual..... which makes him who he is....

HE AINT THE ONLY AFL FOOTBALLER OUT OF CONTRACT....

but he does sell papers and is news cos he is unusual...

What gets me.... is why the other 150 off unsigned footballers for next year dont have their testicals squeezed???

Surely its not about ratings ????

People fall for the rubbish all the time... they get into hysterics and have their knickers in a knot...

Again... why does Fev have to sign now and noone else who hasnt signed their contract not have to????
Cant you see the stupidity and insignificance of the whole thing???

Worst bit is Ratts has to get involved too...just to make the whole thing even more silly......
.. which means Fev has to cal the radio stations to say.... "Look i havent signed but i will in a month...im not going anywhere........"

which just raises the point.... how can he negotaitate anything if he has already publically stated he is staying???

which makes the whole thing a farce... and nonsensical....

so why even worry about it if its flower flower in the head????

probably right there sinners

but perception is reality and at the moment - the whole saga doesnt look good for either party

Both club and player are to blame for what has become a bit of an embarrassment for our club. They should have known things could have gone down this route. I dont believe fev has done too much wrong except for pushing a bit hard for as more cash. It is his last major contract so i guess he is within his rights but both he and the club should have known that the media were going to be all over this so they should have come up with a plan to get the job done with minimal fuss (that the public knew about).

The club has been tarnished by this. It could even be seen as a setback when coupled with Pratt having to stand aside.

Anyhow whats done is done. They should get together and get it sorted on monday or tuesday. Get Murph and Waite done at the same time then have a big love in to mend the damage. At the presser talk about outsiders sticking their noses in and trying to make a bigger a story out of the saga than there really was. Mention that Fev could have got a whole lot more elsewhere but chose to stay with the club and that the delay was in the details with payment breakdowns. Even have Alex on hand to say she is happy that Fev is with carlton because she and the kids love the club as much as he does.

Group hug and we get on with chinning the Swans.

I agree with Caro's article, Maclures comments, Walls comments, Buckley's comments.

Four respected football people.

True, the truth about this guy really hurts a few around here.

Maclure - premiership player who gave all for the jumper. Didn't decide which days he would choose to play either - unconditional commitment to the CFC cause. His flowering pay packet a little lighter than Fev's too.

Walls - ditto. He's earned the RIGHT to make the comments he has. And the guy has coached a bit as well.

Bucks - hated him whilst playing, but, shite, he says it as he sees it. I never ever thought I would say that, either. A selfless team player and this Fev circus must really iritate him.

When he's running around in that beautiful CFC jumper, kicking goals (yes, I want him to kick goals and win games for us) and FULLY COMMITTED, like most here, I love it, but FFS, why can't he handle this with some dignity and stop flowering with the karma of the club.

1000% behind Ratts and Co on this. Caro was spot on, THIS TIME.

How they can even be compared is beyond me.

Brown is easily a better player, team man, leader, consistent player than Fev will ever be. Brown will be remembered as a 3 time premiership player who at his best was considered the best in the game.

Fev will be remebered as a talent who never got the best out of himself.

The whole Fev contract thing is and has been a media beat up since day one. Fev is/was always going to sign. The delay has been simple, Fev getting new management and the key staffer involed being oversea's for a couple of weeks. 3 years for around $500 000 to 600 000 per year. closer to $500 000. This includes marketing compoent, no Juddy didn't get it all!!
