There are 15 other teams that these lazy good for nothing sycophants who call themselves journalists can start beating themselves up over for stories, because the Carlton ship has sailed my good friends - and they are still standing on the pier.

Houlihan was the culprit.

I cant believe this thread got to 37 pages when he was always going to sign (see the comments from about 4 weeks ago)
its an indictment on people who are stupid enough to yet understand how the media works

Once he has re-signed perhaps a sorry page could be set up for all those "supporters" who wanted him gone, traded, bad mouthed him etc.... I doubt these so called Carlton supporters would have the courage to put their name to what they have been saying recently though !

If you read all the pages you will find most people are arguing whether Fev is worth that much. Most people know he is going to sign.

Fev and his management have used the media to get from point A to point B. The media is only doing its job for Fev.

No player is immune to trade talks.

This business waits for no man - if you don't improve your list, or better your team you fail. I'm happy for Fev to sign for the right conditions and pay, but I'm equally happy to trade him if the right deal was offered.

37 pages on Fev's contract - it is taking on Hamillian proportions. I notice Josh K assures us he will sign and that was known 4 weeks ago, Josh is usually on the money, and I enjoy the information shared. Still wouldn't it be good if Fev just signed, end all the speculation.

Fev is a super talent, who is great with supporters. He still hasn't fulfilled his talent, having put in one completely consistent season, several half seasons and a lot of wasted seasons. He is still immature, seems to have little common sense and needs to be constantly reminded that there is no 'it's all about me' in team. I realise his managers are new kids on the block, yet more ex footballers looking to have an easy life on a % of a footballers wages. How many player managers could genuinely call themselves professionals?

Whatever Fev gets from us will be very good and a bit less than he'd get anywhere else. Maybe over the remainder of his career he might get $500,000 more from another club. Half of that would go in tax. So is the remaining $250k the difference between the good life and being destitute? Fact is if Fev can't set himself up for life on what the Blues pay him, then the extra at another club won't make any difference. Fev reminds me of a naughty ten year old, so I am not sure how much pocket money he will have left when he is 40, unless he gets some wise advice.

And whatever happens, we should never again tolerate David Allison style management.

As to whether he is a 'champion' - you're kidding. He is an exceptionally talented player, who has too often in the past played selfish non team footy. I can't recall any Carlton champion, or any player anywhere who has done a dummy spit like Fev's Freeo game last year. If he didn't have the sort of talent he does, he'd be playing in the burbs. He owes us and he needs to be smart enough to understand that he can become a Carlton champ if he wants to be. When he has been an outstanding and consistent team oriented player for the next 5 seasons, I'll be happy to call him a champ.

I think someone brought up Buzz in the champion debate. Buzz played about 60 games but his performance across all those games would be superior in his contribution to the team than any 60 Fev has played thus far. Remember Buzz and Johnno invented forward pressure. Despite the screamers and impossible goals Buzz was also one of the best tacklers in the VFL. I'd love to be able to say that about Fev, and when I can I will call him a champion.

everyone suggesting behaviourial cluases to fevs contract

i understand why people are saying this

but

all players have behaviour cluases on them already even fev

so why is there a need for additional behaviour cluase if there is already one in place set by the afl already

sure fev needs to improve his off field antics but there is far worse players then fev
