Talking to the Richmond Cheer squad when Murphy was having a shot and it could have dropped short. Still has to be the centre of attention in a team sport

Stiil pays out on teammates

A dodgy groin and he is 28 in January
I would have gone with a 2 year deal with a few behavourial clauses

He is obviously not going to get that because he is the number one forward bar Buddy in the competition.

His in form and there is a limited time span in a players career so he will go for the max. The bad part of that is that we see the bad side of Fev. He doesnt look at the overall picture.

The Swans take advantage of this situation by offering him big money because they can. And 4 years The living allowance they get in Sydney is 750000 a stupid thing given its almost just as expensive to live in Melbourne.

Lynch comes across as the perfect player agent.
He is a prick

And he knows that if he feeds and leaks to the media which he obviously has about Sydney being involved then it puts pressure on Carlton to up the anty, the club that could have chucked Fevola out for his repeated childish antics.

Of course Fev could just sign the thing couldnt he.

If you look at the team this year and how its going we get the ball in the forward 50 more often than most other teams but are percentage for scoring against entry to forward 50 is one of the lowest.
This aint fevs fault as we go to him too often anf we are too predictable. We need a spread of goal kickers with less focus on the Fev.

How do you reckon Fev would cope with this. Not too well I reckon.

Lets not forget Fevola is in the peak of his career.
Yep he is a matchwinner.
But this contract thing has been going on long enough.

IMO he is lucky he is getting 3 years.
Players can be champions at 27
Washed up at 30
Particularly playing in a power forward roll
Loyalty is a diminshing value these days.

Still will be cheering him when he kicks a sausage roll on Friday night

behavorial cluase

this is pretty well standard in any afl football player in which all afl players abide by

why add another behavorial cluase to what is already in place

Yes he has, I have to admit that Wiggins has been good, but lets not get ahead of ourselves and say he has won us games.

But where was he the last 6 or so years. Sorry Fev is the one that provided light in that time. Fev is the one that made supporting carlton cool considering we are always on the bottom of the ladder.

I think if we get pick 1 or 2 for fev I'd be happy. Thats only fair considering we gave up pick 3 and Kennedy for Judd.

Whatever we pay him from now on will be too much. We wont win a premiership in 2 years. Fev'll be 30. Too old. Get a young gun like Natanui.

we would not get pick 1 or 2 in the draft to give up fev in a trade considering this year is the last before the gold coast gets prioty next year...

most clubs would be looking at keeping early picks in my opinion...

He'll be 29 in 2 yrs maybe in his prime still.

To win a flag you have to progress from both to the edge of the 8 to winning a final to top 4. For that you need your best players. Your young blokes develop around your good players and once the good ones go they pass the baton onto to those young blokes who have hopefully stepped up. Young blokes need experience around to develop. So even if they're not in the next premiership team they make a great contribution towards it.

Teams needs big bodies and well as experience to compete with the better sides. Draft picks, as important as they are, don't always do that. Besides starting again and taking years to develop draft picks 1 & 2 probably won't replace an 80-90 goal FF, if in fact they turn out. Such players are rare and hard to find. Even harder to replace in a side with no other KP forwards. The club needs Fev as much as Fev needs the club. He's been wonderful for this club in dark times carrying the forward line and kicking goals with half the opposition hanging off him. It's his last big contract and he deserves to, and should, make the most of it, as anyone on this site would if they were in the same position. Called negotiation. Supporter impatience and frustration won't make him sign his contract any faster.

Anyway, on SEN the OX just said he spoke to Fev before he he went on air. Fev says the delay is Steven Icke being overseas, will be back tomorrow, loves the club, wishes to play no-where else and will sign soon. Fev said to Ox that the Sydney reports were a great load of rubbish and has no idea where that rubbish came from. He said he hadn't spoken to anyone from Sydney.

Probably means 35 pages of rubbish on here.

I want Fev to stay......on our terms.

Just guessing:
3 years
500K pa
good behaviour clause

Got Buckleys of that happening.

Do I still want Fev to stay? Well I'm old school at times and I want him to stay a Blue forever....but I have learned that too much money. long term contract and injury don't pay dividends to the club.

Furthermore, we have to be realistic as to what is the window for our Baby Blues to win a Flag. When is that likely? Will Fev be around for that?

If not, we must entertain the value we extract from a trade in 2008, whilst he's at his peak and in demand from other clubs closer than us to winning a Flag.

So, can we win one in 2009 or 2010? I don't know. Anything can happen.

That depends on where we are in comparison to Geelong, Doggies, Lions and Hawks at the time. My guess is The Cats will be playing for 3 in a row and remaining a powerful force till 2011; I believe Hawks are a couple of years ahead of us; and Lions are on par till 2011 (when Brown retires???).

I don't know if I want to wait to develop an early pick given they may take too much time to develop or turn out average. But if we were to get a quality player between 20 and 23 and an early pick, then I would support that...plus a late pick ala Judd Trade.

Number 1: I don't wont to be held over a barrel by player managers. The player either wants to dearly play for the Blues, or they can go and get [REDACTED] and try their luck elsewhere; Demons, Freo, WCE for all I care.

I'm a Fev fan, but moreso I'm a Carlton fan.

ox just on sen said he spoke to fev earlier today and here's some of the things he had to say:

-he is flabbergasted at the amount of attention he is receiving about his contract

-he's been told by the club to batten down the hatches and so forth. :?

-said it was garbage that he'd said anything about sydney at the boxing

-said the only reason he hasn't signd yet is because steven icke is currently overseas and i think he said he's returning tomorrow.

-hopes to sign with carlton very shortly.

i'm a bit intrigued by what he meant when he said the club told him to batten down the hatches. doesn't that mean something about preparing for trouble or for a hard time or is there another meaning?? :?

Didn't want to start a new thread, as still uncomfirmed, but Dwayne Russell said tonight on AW that Murphy and Waite have both signed longer term contracts.

I think it would mean that the media are only going to get more feral now that Big Bad Bustling is persona-non-grata....and that Fev would do well to keep quiet until the deal is finished.

If you listen to Ratts press conference today he also mentioned that Murph was just about signed. :-D

We are CFC circa 2008 and not CFC 2003, why would players want to leave now
